Not sure if this is the correct section for this post but...here I go anyway.
Generally newspaper sponsored coins and medallions aren't worth much , if anything (mostly selling more papers bait).
I have found them in bulk lots and assorted coins that people bring to me to check out -they are always disappointed that the very old pennies are worthless and unimpressed with my (melt) valuation of the pre-decimal silver, but that's another story.
I keep them as curios and I suspect a lot of you folk also have some. Why not post some picture and opinions here.
To start off here is a fantasy one (at least I hope so) culled from a subscription advertisement in today's paper. I suspect the value, if it actually existed, could be 50......satoshi* or similar crypto!

I am going away, in a couple of days, for a few weeks so a bit busy getting things sorted at the moment -just replaced a couple of IRS suspension arms on the Falcon today- but will dig out some of mine when I get back.
And I can't see why others, of unknown provenance, could not also be shown here.

Harsh. very harsh. I'd give you 50 Doge for it. About 40 times your asking price! :)
I dunno Fulvio, Those satoshi sound like they may be a rather nice and tasty seafood titbit :laugh2:

LOL!
Actually, you should watch this:
Bitcoin.The.End.of.Money.as.We.Know.It.2015.mp4
I think I found my copy on TPB, but you can google it and turn up a few torrents. Just pick a small one, as the gargantuan ones use oddball encoding.
It even contains loads of general background of interest to numismatists. I hadn't realised the Medici were pulling the same sort of BS with fractional reserve lending that the banks are nowadays (that's where you create money by lending out deposits you don't actually have).
This thread is supposed to be about newspaper coins and medallions not crypto currency. A silly, throw away comment is not the point.
Got that? Good, now proceed.

NO Worries, I will keep my posts to the discussion of silly throw away newspaper coins then
I was really hoping to hear from someone about their newspaper discs of metal.
Can't say any more otherwise you lot will be saying "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" or somesuch.
Just waiting on AJ now.

Bloody idiot newspapers ,That looks like it has been counterstamped over a cartwheel penny :shok:
yeah they are great I have two of them
cost me a bomb at the time too
counterstamping for advertising and payment eventually became outlawed
hence the advent of the token

I would imagine that they are still worth a Bomb now Mate, nicely done.
I do hate it that they have ruined a cartwheel though :(
