I have 6 wedding set coins that I am willing to donate to any collector that has never seen one of these coins "In Hand" so that they can see for themselves the difference between these and a standard circulating coin.
Here is the list of what is available, first in best dressed and one coin per member.
You must have 50 posts to be able to participate as per forum buy/sell rules.
Simply pick which coin you would like and it is yours :ok:

That's a kind offer Jim. I have seen wedding set coins and compared them with others so I will not take advantage.
I do recommend to those who have not had that chance to avail themselves of the offer as the comparison is certainly instructive.
very kind offer Jim , but not for me , but I can take a guess about who I think will take up your offer , and they are the kind of people that I don't take to kindly to . sorry but that is the way I feel . and that is my trouble ,not anybody else's . ,, kel ,,

All is Good Kel, These coins will be going to the Needy Not the Greedy
Are you sure you don't want one mate, they are exquisite coins :)
did they do the wedding sets in these?
2003 20c Volunteer's
2005 20c Coming Home
2003 50c Volunteer's
I always thought that they were only made in the standard coins i.e. devlin's designs

All the designs for the early Wedding Set coins were the same as for circulating coins for each particular year.
They were just minted in a far superior way :ok:
This is why if you look at the PCGS pop reports the coins that are graded MS in super high grades occur from 2002-2009 and these MS69-70 coins have to be Wedding set coins because in reality MS68 is an outstanding achievement for a regular circulation coin.
Most Wedding set coins will grade MS68 with ease .
oh thanks
didn't know that
I got my daughter the 2009 set - it was the ordinary designs
very nice ? might be proof can't remember
Very generous Trout!
I bought my own set - mostly because of your enthusiasm for these.
They are very,very nice!
If you are a regular here and don't have one of these coins, you should definately take up this very generous offer!
I have the first issue of the Wedding Sets as an example of the difference between the different finishes on coins.
A very truly nice offer.
True Specimens and now PCGS recognise them as such
Would like to try my hand at a few pics of these and would then be happy to send them on to someone else if required.
That sounds like a plan, I already have these but I would like to see the Robster pics.
You may find this difficult to believe, but these are one of those things I didn't get around to acquiring. Pencil me in at the bottom of the list, mate, and if there's anything left over, I'd like to check one out. Happy to pass it along afterwards too... Hmm, wonder if there might be a talk at MNS on this subject, perhaps?

Special guest speaker, the troutski? Its a good topic in any case. A lot has been written about it on here already. I'm glad I completed my set, they won't be any easier to acquire now.

FIFO? (Fly In, Fly Out) He should be used to that. ;)
But.. who pays the fares? :shok:
Good point, trout would be like a fish out of water in Melbourne (ha ha) - maybe a video conference?

I went to Melbourne once when I was just 19 never been back since, I hated the place.
Far too noisy and smelly for a country Boy :ok:
The 2003 20c Volunteer's has gone to a good home.
I am pretty sure that Fulvio wants one so that still leaves 4 coins to give away.
So if you haven't got one of these Wedding Set coins then grab one now while they are still available.
They really are beautifully made coins and everyone should have at least one of these in their collections :good:

As I said, I'll be happy with anything left over. Though Aj makes a good point about eyesight. Sigh.
PO Box 85 Hallam 3803 .. I thought you had that already? :dodgy:
Don't worry EVERY time trout wants to send me something he asks for my address as he "lost it" :scratch_one-s_head: and mind you I did send him a little address book once because he kept asking for my address but then he lost that as well  :laugh2:
They are in a 'safe' place with his 2007 wedding set!
So it's the 10c for RG and there are a 20c 50c and 2 5c left.
Which one Fulvio ? :)
And I need your addy as well RG , Cos guess what..........I lost it :)
My filing system is pretty much non existent and consists of boxes full of recepts and stuff chucked in a corner
Far to busy mucking about with coins to be bothered with the paperwork :)

Best skip the 5's I guess. Cos I 'lost' the magnifier.. probly with your address book, by the sound of it. ;)

Very difficult coin to image Robster :dodgy:
The 10c is probably the easiest.
I left them in their capsule.

Nice images Fordy :good:
sure is
:cray: too beautiful for words , I say .
I know I keep rambling on about these Wedding Set coins But if you took the same coin from each of the mint set, Baby set, Proof set, Silver proof set and the wedding set and placed them side by side the Wedding set coin would stand out as the most technically superior coin out of the lot of them.
The proof set coins are beautifully struck and the fields are smooth and immaculate But the frosting removes a great deal of the fine design from the coin.
The wedding set coins are also immaculately struck and the fields are magnificent and the fine details in the design are perfectly formed on the coin.
These wedding set coins are an absolute credit to the skills and workmanship of the artisans at RAM that created them and in my humble opinion are the finest examples of any coin type produced for Australian Decimal currency . :ok:
Wonderful image Fordy! Will be good for the learning curve.
ohhh too bad I'm new to the forum...
maybe you can make an exception for the foreign students?

Think perhaps the Proof finish is the "Glamour Presentation"

Great images Fordy :good:
The Proof does look "pretty" but it hides the detail that the Wedding Set coin portrays so well :ok:
I agree with trout , and mainly because the eyes ,
on the proof coin the roos look blind .
All the coins are now on their way to new homes.
Thanks for participating people :good:
thank you very much
little package received today

I received my coin yesterday Jim, much appreciated, certainly a 'high end product'.
Looking forward to testing my lens capabilities! :ok:
