Title: Remember Omid?
Post by: Fulvio on June 05, 2016, 03:56:26 PM
One of the more controversial figures around here, I know. And yes, he owes me money. But then, he's not the only one, not by a longshot.

Anyway, things may finally be looking up for him after a lot of ups and downs (mostly downs). He showed me this weedkiller idea years ago, but the commercial side never really came together so far. He just posted this on FB however:

Should be worth a watch.

Greetings and salutations to one and all
It is with pride and passion that I inform you, my hero and I will be presenting WeedSniper® by IntelliWeed® on Shark Tank on Channel 10 On June 22nd at 8:30 PM.
Your support has been received with gratitude over the years of hard labour this venture has required.
I am sure you will share with me the enthusiasm and excitement in letting everyone know about our TV appearance.
Aria and I look forward to thanking you in person one days soon
Omid

I don't remember him -probably because I have never heard of him before.
Is this him?

Good on him, and hope it's a success. I'm definitely having one, maybe three :)

I definitely remember him, one of the several characters that have been on various forums.
I wish him luck with his weed killer.
Might even get one as my weed wand will soon need replacing.

Like him or hate him....I never had a problem with him. I did many good honest deals with him with no issues. I had more problems with the people that did not like him and knew I had dealt with him.

If I remember correctly, Omid got a lot of members off side with something.

It may have been on the Secret Squirel forum but I never had a problem with him.

Well, a few somethings. I ended up sort of mediating in one dispute over a 1923 Halfpenny, and even after seeing all the evidence and hearing both sides, I still have no clue what really happened. Boils down to "he said, he said", and the only thing I'm sure of is that both firmly believe their own version of events.

My own case involves some sacks of low-mintage dollars that were stolen while in his possession. Clearly, that makes it his problem, not mine, but I knew that he lost a very large quantity of his own coins in the robbery, and simply didn't have the money to make it right. One day... same as with a couple of others who owe me over deals gone sour.

Heck, if it comes to deals gone sour, I STILL owe AJ for some coins he sent me, that we've never found anything I had that he actually wanted in exchange. Time stands still for no man, but we're both aware of the debt, even if we don't stress over it.

Yeah no biggie mate, and you know I just like to stir you when I can hehe :friends: One day you'll come across something that you'll think, gee AJ would like that and I appreciate everything I'm given :)

He did a private issue PNC with the blessing of Aussie post. They supplied a specially made fdc for the project. He got it liscenced through Fifa  and did a Soccor World Cup PNC. Was nothing more than what downies had done around that time. I know fair trading got involved in it. In fact fair trading actually did a visit of my shop as I stocked it. I also know a few letters were sent out after the fair trading investigation saying nobody (except the complainers) had done anything wrong. He may have rubbed some people the wrong way but he was always fine by me.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that saga.

Thanks for letting us know about this Fulvio.

Regarding Omid's past history I'd appreciate it if the entire subject was not spoken about on this forum.  I have no desire to see the same stuff re-hashed over and over, stuff that has killed more than one forum.

Yeah, agreed. That wasn't my intention, and I don't think anything that's been said falls into that category. Those who would likely have gone there are long gone I think.

Why is it that when there is a drama over a coin transaction the majority of the time its a 1923 half.
As far as "i've been robbed" saga's go,whether its a Furphy or really happened he is still liable for your coins and i would be chasing him.

Heh. Can't get blood out of a stone. And he's not my largest debtor, by a longshot. Can't collect from the others either, for similar reasons.

But I do believe in karma, and I feel that eventually all will be put right.

I just need to live long enough I guess. ;)

Well, gotta say he presented himself very well, and got a reasonable deal out of it. If his investor is anywhere near as good as he sounds, should be a pretty awesome future coming up.

This is the product BTW: http://www.weedsniper.com.au/

Prerelease beta of the website that he posted asking for comments, but the product is finalised.
