If any one here play Ocean Wars.
If there is, can someone please assist me by explaining in detail how I am supposed to to:
A. Defend my fort against attacks; and
B. How I can get more than one fleet to sail at the same time.
TIA.
I see this is an Android and Facebook Flash game. I thought you were playing it natively under Windows the other day? Or did I miss something?
Anyway, have you read this? http://appgamecheats.com/ocean-wars-cheats-hack-tips/

You are a bit old for kids games aren't you Goldy!

You're a bit old to be a troll aren't you?
Seriously, games aren't for kids. Kids have far more important things they should be doing. Its us old farts that have run out of stuff our bodies will let us do, and games are our salvation. Especially games that need actual thinking, like these strategy games. :)
I loved Warcraft2, I have it on 3.5 inch floppies somewhere but I have no idea where I have put them. :dash1:
Nothing Wrong with us old farts playing computer games, At least we aren't neglecting our school homework doing it now
Gee I wouldn't have got anything done at school if I had the technology that the kids have today :winkextra:

Yeah, I'm a Warcraft fan. Played WoW for years until they obsoleted my iMac with the Mists of Pandaria expansion. I've got WC3 around somewhere.. probably should dig it up, and StarCraft too. For now, I'm playing C&C Generals mostly, when I'm not messing about with my humungous hole in Minecraft (long story). ;)
Bring back Lemmings!!!!!
I particularly like real time games. For example Silent Hunter, Silent Service 11, Jutland and all naval orientated games. I hate the fast, jet plane stuff.
WOW I have on CD and play it sometimes. I will not go online and play though.
Ocean Wars I like because there is so much to do to progress and it is a real time game. I have not found a way to compress the time nor to add any cheats to give me more timber, food or gold.
I really loved Lemmings. It exercised the brain very quickly.

You mean Warcraft 1, 2 or 3. World of Warcraft is an online-only subscription MMORPG, and it can't be played off a CD. I really miss it, and wish they hadn't gone off the rails with all the bells and whistles. But then, all developers do, because they lose sight of what makes their products awesome in the first place. In the case of MMORPG's, that's the freedom to pretty much do what you want, without having to follow a script or what everyone else is doing. And the real action happens inside your head anyway, so the fancy graphics are just a visual aid... I don't really need photorealistic water or blades of grass which have individual physics. When they go down that path, they make the game bigger, slower, use up more bandwidth and demand that I upgrade my machine just to play. Screw that.
Now Lemmings... there's an awesome game that doesn't require a $4,000 computer and a non-existent fibre NBN to play. It's small, it'll run on virtually anything, and it has really basic but fun gameplay. Awesome. :)
Bruce, I saw your Facebook Ocean Wars invite. I might give it a shot, but since I refuse to run Flash on my iMac, it'll likely be a limited test only. :dodgy:

I agree, you're never too old. My son has gotten me into playing Star Wars Battlefront in the last few weeks and I'm still playing World of Tanks after several years.
I have a tower I built a few years ago gathering dust in the spare room that has a few games on it and may resurrect it if it wants to work.
I haven't plugged it in for over 5 years since I went down the laptop only route.
I actually built it for gaming back then and it has some decent hardware in it for that era, I remember that the cpu is the last of the intel quad cores before they went to the i3, i5,i7 units with 8gig of ram which was quite a lot back then :)

And that's the difference between us and them. We play games for years or decades, kids have the attention span of a goldfi... ooh, look at that! Shiny!
I'm still playing C&C Generals, which was released a dozen years ago. We used to go to an internet cafe in Ringwood (remember those?) to pay money to play on their LAN. I used to play StarCraft with some younger family members till they lost interest too. And of course there was about 6 years of WoW till they pulled the rug out from under me.
Kids 'finish' a game as fast as they can, then dump it and buy something new. Cos new is always better, right? Bah, its like Granny-Bait collectors. ;)
Bruce, I'm in, just building Lv5 Capitol and putting a fleet together. Joined some random Alliance for now, and trying to work out exploration. Bloody music is driving me nuts... talk about Earworm... :dodgy:

Heck I remember playing Microprose Grand Prix with a null modem cable (remember those?) in 1994.

Yeah, the early 2000's Strong PVR's used those to update(bit of a worry) Firmware so they were still around then but in the dustbin of history now.

HeHe
I still have the crimpers and connectors here somewhere :)

Hehe... made more than a few of those, as well as other assorted paraphernalia. Heck, I have a sports bag filled with cabling gear that I haven't even opened in maybe 5 years.
If I was starting out now, everything would be wireless. Sure, stringing Cat-5 gives better results in many ways, but hanging off the guttering, lifting tiles and trying to dangle the cable past the hole in the wall 8 feet below has hairs on it. ;)
So, I posted a couple of questions in the Ocean Wars Q&A Group in FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/737460969722301/
Turns out you can only change servers if your castle is below Lv 5, and you've been playing less than 72 hours (IE, you're still 'bubbled' with beginner's protection). So one would have to uncouple the game from FB, start over with a new account, and then move to where you wanted to be. Pretty dumb, when others allow server changes in one way or another.
No answer yet on why I can't see any friends, or why I can't respond to Goldy's requests. Maybe its to do with me being on K14 and him on K11?
Overall, the game appears to be a nautical Clash of Clans knockoff. It plays reasonably well once you get over a few quirks, but the most annoying thing, and the one that usually kills these games for me, is the greed of the developers. Definitely a 'Pay-to-Win' model which makes it grossly unfair for newcomers who end up just being farms for the rich kids. :(

You'll keep. :diablo:
So, after messing about a bit, and following a couple of unfortunate incidents with alliances, I ended up with a great bunch of guys. And we started a Facebook Group for the alliance. Then a mole infiltrated us and started a war, resulting in yet another move to join a bigger, better and more active group of like-minded people. So I've morphed it into a general discussion group with tips and tricks:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1203001579750579/
Anyway, I'm recommending to Goldy that he abandon his current identity and start over, joining us on kingdom 14. I'll happily go over and help him through this transition (its a little non-obvious). And I was wondering if anyone else would like to join the fun?
Yes, this is a freemium, pay-to-win type of game. But it CAN be played without spending a cent, and a great alliance like ours helps.
