I just had an email from the latest applicant, Lucie Robson. This is what she wrote to me:
Quote"I'm not a coin collector but I am a radio producer at ABC and we have a program about coins and currency on tomorrow night. I wanted to alert the coin community of the program - but maybe you can do it for me?
The show is Nightlife with Tony Delroy and we have Andrew Crellin and Stewart Wright joining us tomorrow night at 10pm AEST. The show is on ABC Local Radio.
Thanks! "
Could be quite interesting.
Oh yeah. One of the other producers (how many do they have, anyway?) posted this on Facebook the other day, and I was going to share it here, but got sidetracked. Thanks Nancy.
Thanks for the heads up - will be sure to record it.
This is their podcast page:

thanks for that
53 minutes of listening. Not entirely sure of the value in it, but it is much harder through the medium of the radio. Nothing to look at.

Agreed, but I think it is more directed at the layperson.
Yeah,i was at School at the time but there was a weekly,at least in Sydney, Radio program on Coin collecting back in the early 1960's as we moved to Decimal currency,IIRC it was very basic and covered newspaper articles of the day.Its hard to fill a half hour about 1930/1923 coins every week.
I listened to it, spread over 2 days, and can't recall that I heard anything new. But, having said that, it was still mildly interesting.
Bob Roberts used to be a regular guest on ABC RADIO
