Item specifics
Seller Notes: "used"
Just for the heck of it I have sent this message to the seller;
'That is what collectors generally call "road kill" or "PMD" (post mint damage).
It is worth exactly what a bank will credit you for it...$1.
I am am amazed at what crap some people will bid on.'
I encourage others to do similar with such rubbish. Reporting to eBay is generally a lost cause.

It seems to worth $21 at the moment so he/she has done extremely well for himself/herself. A little bit better than the bank swap.
Im not sure what the appeal is, looks like a common lawn mower coin.
Someone is going to feel pretty foolish when they find out they have bought a damaged coin and not an error.
OH well so far it is going to cost some uneducated collector $21.50 for this bit of education
All they have to do is join this forum for free and it would save them heaps by simply asking about this coin :good:
OK Jim,
Send the seller some appropriate links to threads in this forum to help with his (most likely, I suspect) or her understanding.
Or, sit back, crack another stubbie, put on some good music and don't waste your time
Sad but true I am thinking -not the line immediately above.

My own numismatic education cost me a fair amount of cash that I spent on "Junk".
It is pointless emailing these types of sellers as they will nearly always ignore you and most certainly wont put the question asked on their listings.
All I can do is list whatever I sell accurately and provide decent images and hope that other sellers will emulate this practice :ok:
Yes this is funny. The seller is laughing all the way to the bank. :(
Looks like there might be a bit of shill bidding going on if you look at the bids..very sad.
The seller knows exactly what the coin is, it is just plain deception.
:i_agree: and feebay doesn't care just as long as they get their cut :(

I had a look through this sellers sales history and it looks like he/she wouldn't have a clue what they are talking about when it comes to coins.
The trouble is the bidders are no better informed either.
It's pretty much a case of Dumb selling to Dumber

True but I also look at who's bidding and it looks like a bit of shill going on with the same person making the first three or four bids but yes people need to learn but then you can lead a horse to water but ya can't make it drink :winkextra:
$36 final bid, good sale. Anyone here tried this?
I wouldn't even try this, disgraceful :(
I noticed one of the so called bidders (the one the lost) has had a bit of bidding activity with the seller, 13% according to the bid list thing :scratch_one-s_head:
Can the bidders on this coin be contacted in way and be advised that the coin that they are bidding on id a LAWN MOWER job and not a true RAM error coin?
Stating the obvious(yet again on this Forum) but a guy posted on Face Book, from the North Queensland Coin Group i think, warning people not to buy clipped Coins, there had been a glut of them for sale on Facebook/Ebay but has slowed down recently. He said it takes a few minutes to make one,he didn't say how he anchored/balanced the coin but it was just a hit with a punch on the edge, after a few try's anyone can become expert at it.
