Yes, I'm clutching at straws with this one, the denticles around 12 o'clock on the reverse appear long ....... so ........ (I don't think it is).
So I'm asking for some clarification from the masters.
Despite it (most likely) being a short denticle reverse, it may perhaps come under the Renniks Bombay Variety ..... Dot between N of IND and King's Head.
The last pic are several that I took (same coin) in daylight which seem to show a dot in that region (the pics are repeated directly below with circles around the dot).
Does anyone know if this is where the dot is for that variety? It does seem very hard to see (or photograph) under anything but daylight.

Thanks for any assistance.
no master and not familiar with the variety
looks like it matches rennicks description though - tiny but there
I usually put a short and long beside each other and then take a pic - best way to compare those denticles
As you suggested RG, I don't think it's the long denticle version. The ratio of denticle length to spacing from the kangaroos nose doesn't look right. I haven't heard of the variety about which you speak though oh!!...........that's right, my renniks variety book is from 2005 :dodgy::biggrin:
Ah ha. That made it easier Auto.
I've compared the gap of the roo's nose by drawing a line from the tip of the second bead up from the one in front of the roo down so that the line touches the roo's nose.
I've used FP's great pics from his thread (FP's 1943 large denticle thread (https://www.australian-coins.net/showthread.php?tid=3890&pid=75468))
The small bead line comes to the 4th bead below the nose whereas the large bead line goes to the 5th bead below. (see the blue counter lines).

Love your geometry uni, and I'm sure the old world scholars would approve :)
When I get to solving perpetual motion I'll give you a call?:laugh2::angel:

Now that's something I've been pondering for a long time now! (That and a forumla for prime numbers and diabolical magic squares). I can't wait to one day find the time to actually do some tinkering.

Know what you mean uni. Since retiring five months ago I've never had so much fun solving and achieving nothing.
Ok, just been checking up on some items, mainly pennies, in Renniks 2nd edition and came across a 1943 I with a top of O in George broken. Anybody seen this one. I've just come across a broken bottom O in Omn, but haven't seen the other one.
Sorry G, had a look but only found this one. Missing dot after IMP. It's a long denticle reverse type. The "I" is just visible.

Thanks, mate :)
Best I could get unfortunately of the broken O
