Title: Strange eBay admin request
Post by: trout on December 03, 2015, 08:37:11 PM
I received yet another cleaned coin ( I just have to stop buying on my smart phone ) and requested to return it.
I normally just send the offending coin and provide a tracking number and when it has been delivered I get my refund.
This time I got this from the mob at eBay;

QuoteWe need you to provide us with documentation from a qualified 3rd party showing the current condition of the item and any potential repair costs. You can provide this proof by responding to the email sent with further information.

I responded by telling them I easily could do this by sending the offending coin to PCGS for grading and outlined the costs of a single coin submission including the shipping cost involved, IF they or the seller was willing to cover these costs :diablo:

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar request from eBay over a return ?

HeHe.
The "any potential repair costs" is strange as well , once a coin has been polished it is ruined beyond recovery :angel:

The seller obviously didn't like the idea of paying for the "Expert Opinion" from PCGS, The return has been accepted :good:
