Good old Brisbane.
:yahoo: birth place of a demi god :mocking: Gettin a bit warm over our way to Nevol but it's more the humidity that gets me here :)
Me is in Melbourne. The place that can have four seasons in one day.........
Born and bred in Adelaide, found no real reason yet to shift anywhere else.!! Close to beaches, couple of hours to the bush, 200 wineries within 150k's, plenty of good fishing and heaps of good roads for a Sunday ride.! (I have been a "Temporary Aussie" for about 37 years.) Couple of great Coin Shops down the road, some awesome golf courses and some mildly successful sports teams.! (36ers play New Zealand tonight).:good: That being said, like many of us I am only 6 numbers short of owning my own Island Resort.!:yahoo:

There is one photo which shows a fabulous garden - so the resourceful gardening miner could have a great garden even back then. My background was around mining and my father always had a terriffic veggie patch too. He'd cover the garden with hession to stop the veggies getting sunburnt.
Nothing beats a fridge inthe back yard! cheers Rob

The old Hornibrook Highway is no more.....pulled down when they built the Ted Snout Bridge. We still have 2 bridges left.
Central Coast, NSW
I used to live in Murrumbateman, 15k south of Yass (my old Username). I've sold both properties there and bought one down Bateman Bay way on the South Coast. I still work and live in Canberra, but spend Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun nights there. Its only a 2 hour commute.
Why Wednesday? I have to let the cat out. True! My cat was bought up on 8 acres of grassland at Murrumbateman. She is 17 years old and was ok when we first moved into a Canberra unit. We subsequently changed units, and she did not like it one little bit! Crapped and peed everywhere; something that she had never done before. We took her down the coast, and she is back using her litter tray. I think she was trying (very successfully) to tell us where she wants to retire to!
And what a great place to retire to- love the fish and chips on the wharf.!!

I have a pretty good local post office and an exchange jewellers close by. They are ok but arrogant and rude at times.
Had one funployee try and tell me that round 50c was made in 1986 (only 20 years too late!)
I must be nearby. I have the same Adelaide Exchange closeby and agree they are not very friendly and since they moved shop all the pre-decimal coins have gone!

After shunning them for a while i thought id give it another go and now find the one at Glenelg alright. Its taken me a while of sucking up but now the ladies are more than pleasant. Grading and prices are all over the place, usually way over graded and priced but sometimes good. This was my puchase there late last week http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330851975676
and now your selling it already or does have more of the same??

I purhased it to keep but decided to sell it to get some cash for something else.

No problems with fires here (yet!). The Kings Highway has been closed for periods between Bungedore and Braidwood. You can stil get here from Canberra, but its a considerably longer side trip. I also understand there is (was) sections of the Prince Highway (north) that was experiencing fire problems.
If we were to have problems, we'd have to go south. That brings us closer to Melbourne. I think I'd rather face the fires LOL. I could probably stay with Goldeseeker. He lives in my old stomping grounds. LOL.
Somewhere in the south east of Australia, usually.
Cheers graham , yes there have been a few fires.. fingers crossed that nsw will get thru the next few weeks without too many biggies
Emu SE OZ sounds like a great place for a feathery nest! :-)

Fancy that, I was just looking at some of your coins today. I hadn't seen your seller ID b4, so I figured you must be a newbie.
Anyway, I am in NSW between the central coast and the Hunter district.
