Title: Dogs
Post by: Coiny Chris on October 03, 2015, 04:05:51 PM
Hello,

We took the Hound on a Camping trip, and saw him do something quite clever. ( for a change ) He was on a long cable, and had wrapped it around a Post. He was on the ground, got up and walked around the Post then sat down again. I will be curious to see if it was a one off, or he has worked it out. Most know how to open doors and things through seeing how. It is easier to do than untangle a lead though.

It seems like he thought about it and did what he needed to for the extra lead length. Has anyone else seen problem solving like that ? Most People will say their Dog is so clever, most are in a Dog way, you cant judge them by Human thinking though.

We had a little bully when I was a kid and if we were playing with sticks he'd take them and hide them, it was like he knew someone would get hurt :winkextra: but the smartest pets we've had have been parrots by far and especially a corella, and talk about talk, I don't know who taught it but it would call you a wanker and all sorts of thing :blush2: it had three different hello's and use to put it's self to bed and eat and drink anything we did and loved bourbon and beer :laugh2: It really did think it was a person and had a real attitude and it's personality was great.

Hello,

Dogs and Birds are smart, and great " friends " The Dog I have belongs to the GF, I have more space and he can dig and do what he wants. I would not have picked a Dog like him, but he is a great companion. It didnt take long to improve his behaviour, but some is very ingrained from his upbringing. Dogs have done amazing things, but you also earn their trust. He would never bite me, but a stranger who he thinks is a threat lookout ! There is a disabled Kid, who grabs him. He waits for the hold to lessen then gets away. Never a bite !

Birds, another great Pet. On U tube you can see Cockies breaking out from their cages. I once saw a Doco where a Yank Woman taught a Parrot the meaning of many words and could have a conversation with it. I had a Galah, he could recognize a certain biscuit packet. Also could hear my Car before I got home.
