Title: ebay problem
Post by: robbiegal on September 16, 2015, 08:15:03 PM
hi guys and gals
we are being harassed by a nuisance ebayer who is sending troll like emails every couple of days or so
we have 'blocked' bidder but he can still send emails
anyone know how you can block the ebayer from sending emails?
the customer support said they can't stop the e-mails and for us to report from now on
but now the reporting link isn't working properly and the email can't be forwarded

any one got any ideas?

I had a similar problem Last year with a particularly offensive and Nasty piece of Work from Tasmania.
I ended up ringing eBay and sent copies of every single email from this particular Woman to them.

I haven't had a problem since :yahoo:

just trying to figure out how to send them the emails
they said to send them but it isn't working from our end

Yeah just ring them as they can access your emails while you are talking on the phone and see the problem straight away.Whether
they actually do anything about it is another story

Hello,

I have had 2 " people " sending junk for the last few days. Many. It is tempting to buy something to return and get an address. Then arrange a visit....

I dont think I have bought anything from these sellers before.

We had a 'buyer' was winning bidder five times and only ever paid for one item. As fast as we added her to our blocked bidders list she turned up again with a new user name. She also sent us many messages demanding we give her a Buy it Now on various items. Reported her to eBay and received a response that looked like a standard form letter reply and did not mention the particular issues we had raised. So we kept replying and pointing out the issues raised were not mentioned in their replies as being investigated.
This morning we received an email from eBay saying, amongst other things, "We had to cancel bids for the buyer, aulis-bzh4et6r, because they aren't registered on eBay: 252082495143 - ROYAL ALBERT OLD COUNTRY ROSES HEART BELL". So they did actually cancel that bidders registration. Her other four user names , however, still show as being registered.
We also contacted other sellers who had left feedback warning about non-payment by this bidder. They had similar stories.
The moral is that eBay will eventually do something if they get enough complaints; otherwise it appears they just send a platitudinous reply and do nothing else in response to a lone complaint. So, keep on the case if you think you deserve some action from eBay.

ebay sent us this advice
we have set it up so hopefully it will stop the nuisance ebayer

If you are not comfortable having a transaction with this member, you have the option to add them on your block list. For the process, here's how:

1. Click the 'Site Map' link near the upper right of most eBay pages.

2. Under the 'Selling Activities' section, click the 'Block Bidder/Buyer List' link.

3. Click the 'Add an eBay user to my Blocked Bidder/Buyer List' link.

4. Enter the user IDs of the members that you want to block, and then click the 'Submit' button.

After you add the name of your unwanted buyer on your block list, I need you to proceed with blocking this member from sending you an email. Here's how:

1. Go to My eBay.

2. Click Account Tab and hit Site preferences link on the left side of that page.

3. Go to the Selling Preferences and hit Show beside the Buyer Requirement section. Once that section expands, click Edit.

4. On the Select Requirement Page, go to Don't allow blocked buyers to contact section and place a check mark in the tick box.

5. Click Submit.

yeah - ebay has so many rules and they are there but you need a GPS to figure it all out
that advice was all that we needed in the first place

lets' see if it works
I figured it might help other members too

cheers

yeah
I sold a couple of things there & a couple for way under what they were worth
whereas I have noticed some other members get some very impressive sale prices (at times for rubbish)

but have also picked up a couple of things for really good prices too and all delivered, no rip offs
so swings and roundabouts
and like ebay it also depends on having a customer base - if other members are more familiar with you then I think they feel more comfortable to bid more

yeah - there are some odd balls on ebay and I had forgotten about that!
