Looks like the mint is doing a swap of sorts: http://www.ramint.gov.au/media/noticeboard/2015/20150724.cfm
Doesn't say whether they're producing more or have just been sitting on them for a while though.
That's great that people in the bush can't do it with out going to bloody canberra as I noticed it said not available to the online shop, bastards but just bloody typical of the mint :(
This offer is only valid for customers who shop with the Mint's Contact Centre and/or Shop, the online store is not included.
When I rang about this a couple of weeks ago the deal was;
spend $20 and swap 2 for 2
spend $21 to $99 and swap for 10
spend over $100 and swap for 20
these figures are from memory and may be slightly out but you get the idea.
Oh I forgot to add that the day I spoke with them, the shop had about 400 coins to swap and the phone order section had a couple thousand and from what the person was saying, they were moving quite quickly too.
they were all out when I asked on Friday
zip
finito
never managed to get one for myself

WTF are you on about Aj?
you just phone in an order
anyways they are out
The original mintage was to have been 2 million. Only 995,000 have been reported. I wouldn't be surprised if they did make the 2 million, and just sat on them for things like this.
If that's the case, there will be more bites at the cherry. Perhaps a set of coloured coins, perhaps more swaps, perhaps... *shrug*
Regardless, you can't trust the bastards any further than you could throw them.
Looking through the eShop, I'm hard pressed to find anything I want to blow $100 on.. Maybe a 2015 Proof set? :/

PM me if you would like the Ramint CEO's Ross McD direct number!~
This really sucks.
They are taking the example of the Perth Mint who in 2012 or similar re-issued silver coins going back to the ealy 90'
because they never minted the number they werre allowed to.
Shame! Shame on you RAMINT!
I will be calling Ross McD first thing tomorrow morning!
Like vultures circling a corpse!
FMD!!!
Really sick RAMINT!!

why did they put this on the bottom of their page "This offer is only valid for customers who shop with the Mint's Contact Centre and/or Shop, the online store is not included."
it makes it hard to understand what they mean and I get confused enough as it is :(
I wonder how much a call to canberra would cost me in the middle of the day :whistle2:
I called the shop
and then they transferred me to the contact centre - I think it is the call-in line - like the on line shop

Get yourself an Engin phone (which is what I use to ring you) and it will cost you 10ยข anywhere in Oz for $9.95/mth. Or free for $14.95/mth.
Do it as a referral through me, and we should be able to get you a bonus too.. free month(s), equipment or whatever promotion they might be running at the time.
this thread is redundant they sold out of them early last week
The RAM sales must be taking a bit of a hit to make them come up with this sort of sales gimmick

So what did Ross have to say about this when you rang him SULLA?
After calling RAMINT I have been told that that the swap coins were within the original published mintage with coins that were withheld from the original distribution.
I am waiting for email confirmation.

Question that has be asked is why the 2015 $2 coloured coin were withheld from same reason,we all know this coin was issued for circulation like the 2013 purple yet RAM doesn't even have these in a folder or single coin for collectors :dodgy:
