Hi I'm looking to buy coin rolls where can I get them I've asked the local bank they can her
Thanks
Chris
Oh another Chris, welcome mate. Depending on what your after there's all ways the purple penny http://www.thepurplepenny.com/australian-decimal-coins-uncertified,110,3.html
or ebay but be careful as some people re-roll rolls and the mint doesn't really do rolls any more so they're getting hard to find. A few of the auction sites also get them from time to time so also worth a look, good luck in your search.

ANZ have the green Prosegur (formerly Chubb) rolls. So do **SOME** Bendigo Banks.
Other bank branches with coin dispensing machines have Armaguard rolls.
Generally speaking, Armaguard don't roll new coin. Except, apparently, in Brisbane. Prosegur do roll everything, including UNC coins, but seldom get any.
Occasionally, the RAM does rolls, and sells them through dealers at a premium. Such as 2014 $1 for example.
I don't know why the RAM don't do them any more seams to me that there is a market out there for them.
There is a market for them. Unlike the RAM to ignore a sales opportunity.
What was the last RAM roll wrapped in official paper?
Yes you've got that right Jeff and bloody good question runway and the last I can think of are the 2011 International Women's Day and Kate and Will royal wedding but I could be wrong
Yeah I recall the 2011 International Women's Day 20c rolls too - not sure if there were any after that.
I've got some 2005 mob of roo $1 rolls if you're interested. 2005 mob of roos are one of the lowest mintages for circulating $1 coins and were not available in mint sets so it's the only way to get these UNC.

wrong topic to post sales
I think the last Mint wrappers were for CHOGM $1.
Some Banks order rolls for certain customers and it really is pot luck if you end up with UNC coins.
My local ALDI stores get AG rolls here in Melbourne.
You really have to knock on the Banks' doors and ask.
Pot luck!
I dont know anything about these so just interested to know if the RAM rolled coins have anything printed on the paper to say they are RAM rolled?
We are lucky in NZ at the moment as all coins being produced by the Royal Canadian Mint (10c-50c) get delivered prerolled to NZ with the rolls stating RESERVE BANK OF NEW ZEALAND (THEN DENOMINATION). Our $1 & $2 coins come in bags but I put aside what I can afford of the security company rolls again working at the bank helps lol. The reserve bank rolls will be cataloged next year in the price guide so trying to work out where they should be priced at the moment.
RAM Mint Rolls are identified as such by the writing on the wrappers. If a roll does not have Royal Australian Mint on the wrapper, it's NOT a RAM roll. here are a few Ebay examples for you:

Sorry to contradict Nevol, but a good example is the 2014 MOR rolled by the RAMINT which has no identifying marks confirming RAMINT is the roller.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252042810013
Some dealers have claimed that the rolls were limited to 5000, however RAMINT statements to me contradict that claim; and after discussing the
5000 roll issue with RAMINT some dealers withdrew that claim from their websites.
Similar wrappings for $2 Mint releases.

I suspect (now) that if a roll does not clearly state the name of a security company it may be a RAMINT issue.
But I do have security company wrappers from 2010 $1 that are "No Name" and not RAMINT issued. (rollspack.com.au).
I suspect that RAMINT has simply purchased wrappers from Rollspack as they are in a similar format.
I have spoken to the RAMINT (MN) re these issues and she has confirmed on a number of occassions that RAMINT roll "INHOUSE"
And I recall that the reason they stopped rolling inhouse previously was for quality control issues where the coins (front - first - and rear - last) coins in rolls were being scratched / damaged by the rolling proceess as the "coins were gripped / secured".
Perhaps someone here knows more?
QuoteSorry to contradict Nevol,
I stand corrected. Thanks Sulla.
hum
tricky
the official older rolls had royal Australian mint
these later ones were rolled for the mint (either in house or by consignment) and then they were distributed by the mint directly to dealers
guess it is a matter of which ever one/s is/are deemed to be ófficial'
That does make it rather confusing. Hopefully it gets well recorded somewhere
??/
recorded???
RAm
?????
LMAO
The 2014 $MOR roll was offered to dealers by RAM for face value
That is fair in my books, the dealers make little profit with most RAM product
Yes and I thought that the ram rolled them as well?

Just plain brown paper RAM may have commissioned rolling them by third party but doubt it
Simple answer to this issue is to call RAMINT and ask
(as I have done).
RAM don't answer such questions SULLA
ram did have there own coin rolling machine yonks ago, but it was put aside a few years ago, it needed maintenance and cost too much, so now if they do get it done its all 3rd party.
so they don't have there own pretty roll papers that they used to do, it would be whatever the rolling company uses.
the last roll was the $1 mor that was done to butter up there dealers that missed out of the Victoria cross medal allocation.
the mint do do baggies, they show it in one of there clips, so baggies of the same denomination with the colour stipe bags are done at the mint.

They answered when I asked MN.
What did MN tell you SULLA?
MN said / wrote rolled in-house!
"Thanks for your call earlier. As discussed on the phone, I can confirm that the Royal Australian Mint rolled the 2014 $1 Mob of Roos Coin in-house. There isn't an official mintage of the rolled $1 coins. There are approximately 1 million 2014 $1 'mob of roos' circulating coins being produced."
Where MN states: "There isn't an official mintage of the rolled $1 coins."
This refers specifically to the number of rolls released. Some dealers claimed
they were told at RAMINT meetings that there were only 5000 made / rolled.
RAMINT in the above quote is denying that number.
Sounds legit SULLA thanks for that :)

Very interesting.
Thanks for posting the link. :thank_you:
I don't collect RAM rolls, but very interesting.
Interesting - coins have been urgently required recently when I would have thought coin usage would have bad down.
I've actually seen a couple of my local petrol stations effectively running out of cash. I always pay in cash and they thanked me for bringing in money.
I found that assuming.

Perhaps they don't want to have too much laying around in case they get robbed
