Title: 1981 10c coin error?
Post by: xrturbs on July 19, 2015, 08:36:48 AM
Hi guys newbie here, would this be classified as an error, it's like the word Elizabeth has been underlined or stamped too hard.

Tried taking photo but then scanned it shows up better - (http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/ag166/Huckle_Berry_Finn/10c021_zpsu6www6ci.jpg?t=1437175035)

I think that's what we commonly refer to as rolling machine damage. It happens to coins that have at some time been the end coin in a roll that was mechanically rolled, by either a bank or a security company.

To keep it brief, PMD, ie Post Mint Damage.
