Its the first one i've seen on Ebay,i thought it might sneak thru but has been well found.Anything under a grand would seem a good buy.
Edit...sold for $1136,which is fair i guess for a Coin the majority of collectors don't care about.

Well spotted Basil. I stopped looking for them after managing to snavel one on ebay a few years ago. The rims on this one are a bit edgy, but I reckon the price was OK.
The thing is, if that coin had been a London obverse it wouldn't have made $2.
About 18 months ago one went for $130, or around there, "buy it now"
It was advertised as an Indian obverse as well, but there was no mention of the dropped 1.
I could have bought it myself, but let a fellow collector pick it up. Was worth a lot more to him that it would have been to me at the time.
gee your a nice bloke Rob :good:
I very much doubt it but I'll have to suss my 31's for this dropped 1 :)

$130 is what may be asked for a normal 1 Indian in VF to gVF. But ebay can be full of surprises.
Yeah,i have several normal 1 Indians and they pop up on Ebay regulary often not ID.The dropped 1 Indian is a very scarce beast but i'm sure there are plenty(hundreds?) sitting in collections not ID.
Until the rise of the Internet,Forums & Ebay i feel 99% of collectors wouldn't know they existed,it was only Coin Trade & Club people that sought them out so i expect more to turn up for sale on Ebay in the years ahead.
I might mark up that obverse to night when I get home. It sort of looks a tad border en to me. I once bought what looked Indian off ebay but the coin was on Don in the hand
Yeah, have to be careful like everything on Ebay,i purchased a Indian 31 in a rush a couple of years ago,'buy it now' and newly listed and i stupidly jumped in,he had the Coin at an angle and the date at first look seemed to be a dropped 1 but in fact was a normal 1,Indian Obv.,but i payed $80 for it.Lesson learnt, don't rush in and don't drink beer when bidding on coins.
I feel confident its a genuine dropped 1 Indian, seems to have the dot after the 'S'.I didn't know about the dot until recently when a member here pointed it out.
is that after the S in GEORGIVS? - LOOKS LIKE A DASH?

Yep dot / dash. It's a quick way to tell. All the dropped 1 indian obverse dies i've seen have it.
