Title: 2013 $2 Coronation C Mintmark
Post by: Pedro on May 17, 2015, 09:24:42 AM
Looks like the 2013 Canberra mintmarked $2 in the folder has attracted some interest! They were sailing along in the $30+s up until last month and now they have risen markedly.

My wife asked me why I didn't buy 20 of them (as opposed to the 1 I did)!

Thems the breaks.

just a quick bump of this thread as I want to thank pedro for posting this.
I have several of these that I got a couple of months ago in some bulk lots and I just chucked them in the carded coin pile with all the other nclt just I hoard.
I didn't think they were worth this much and being able to essentially "swap" 4 of them for a pre decimal proof set has been great

I thought so, they don't really do it for me and to think they are on par with a 2000 Victoria cross $1!!

The coloured $2 shock price was never going to last
Like sportscars when fashionable huge price but when another model arrives the old one depreciates

I think because of the various commemorative $2 coins produced lately the lowly $2 coin has finally become collectable.
this particular "c" mintmark coin wasn't that popular when it was introduced and there is probably not that many out there for new collectors to add to their sets.
Hence the feeding frenzy :ok:

Might be worth getting in on the 2014 C mintmark carded $2 before the
price gets too high while the RAM is still selling them for $12.95

This is a reasonable deal, I just grabbed 5 for $72.35 or $14 47 each including postage.
