Title: Taxation 20c Coin As Issued
Post by: Goldseeker on May 15, 2015, 06:53:54 AM
Have made contact in the last coup[le of days with a lady from the ATO who has the free bee 20c stuck to the card, as issued.

It is now on the way to me for a small sum of money.

Now I am negotiating for the lapel pin that she has but can't find.

I shall put up scans when item in hand.

I think I can remember the same thing going for just short of $300 something when they first released the coin on the card.

Is this a coin that is worth more because of the packaging or is it different in some way? Also what is the history on this one?

The pictured items were gifted to every staff member of the ATO in 2010 for the 100 years. The coin is no different, it's the packaging. Maybe it should be in Macca's.

it was only issued to staff (sealed inside the folder) and was not sold through outlets etc

my hubby has one
he doesn't work for the ATO but was invited along to the event at the RAM as he was the coin club el' presidnto at the time

we don't really know how much they are worth but were under the impression that they were a collectable
noted that goldie says that he is getting his for a small sum of money - what ever that means

Just a quick glance at the annual report 2011
20 cent ato 2010 803494 29,500 unlimited
That could be it, will have to look around further to confirm.

The only other issue from memory was the PNC which has a different number and a mintage of 15,000 (2010 report) which sounds about right.

These numbers in addition to the circulation 11,575,000

The third one PPH, is that of the Lapel Pin?

And no, It cost me a bit more than $0.25.c for the item.

If my mind serves me correct, one sold on EBay just after they were released to the ATO Employees for a little under $300.00.

This is where you have to be careful that your hobby doesn't get turn into a business and taxed accordingly. It's these things that put me right off at times as I'd like to try but there's just so much involved and to keep a very close eye on or you can end up in all sorts of trouble. It's not as easy as just saying I'm gonna be a coin dealer and especially with other things like lost post  :(

Last night when I put Taxation 20c in the search they didn't come up. But today they are.????

They are under Australian currency - Australian decimal coins - 20cent

Hope this helps.

I was thinking about getting a couple. Did PP do a story on these I couldn't find it?
