Title: 1998 $1 edge rim
Post by: Pedro on May 13, 2015, 08:58:54 PM
What have I got here - PMD or otherwise? Any ideas? There is no damage around the same area on the other side of the coin.

Looks like a piece of the rim was loose prior to minting, then managed to get folded back and then flattened out when the coin was struck. I s'pose it's still called a cold shut though. .
