I think a link was posted to the latest currency determination earlier but I didn't see any mention of the 50th anniversary of decimal currency coins, so here it is again: http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2015L00382
It looks like each circulating coin's obverse will have an image of one of the old predecimal coins (except for the halpenny) on it, as well the current (not the new) portrait of the Queen.
I was reading this in the determination and trying to work out what was going on. Are the thoughts that these may be circulating coins or a "mint set" style release with all denominations on one card?
Not sure. I'm sure you'll be able to get them in a set but I think as far as the determination goes, they can issue what's in it for circulation if they want to but there's no obligation to do so.
I don't think they will make them for circulation, it will confuse people, self explanatory
and any coin currency has to have the value on one side, and queeny on the other
It would seem odd not to release any commemoratives in change at all for the occasion though.
Are the 2015 50 years of the RAM mint set only or not? Might still be a bit early to say.
Interesting
