Post by: Nevol on March 26, 2015, 02:08:14 PM
Can anyone assist me in further identifying this coin please?

I've spent a while trying to nail it down and so far have come up with India (Gwalior) 1929, ΒΌ Anna, but can't get any further.

I'm really after the correct KM# for it and can't make out which one it is out of these 3. My coin weighs 5g. I can supply more images if it will help.

KM#177

KM#176.1

KM#176.2

The differences are too subtle for my old eyes to pick out, or maybe what I think I've ID'd so far is all wrong. TIA for any assistance. :thank_you:

well its not a 177 they weigh 3-3.15gms
and it is not 176.2 because that is a thin planchet.
yours is the 176.1 with a thick planchet weighing in at 4.65-5.15 grms

should be 2.2mm thick

I can't measure the thickness as I don't have a caliper to measure it with.  I dare say my son has one, but he's very busy and I don't want to distract him.

Thanks serial. :yahoo:

Fudge it. You undoubtedly have coins of known thicknesses to compare to.
