Title: No Wonder AustPost Is Going Broke
Post by: Goldseeker on March 17, 2015, 01:10:18 PM
I received two parcels in the mail this day, both had stamps on them.   But none of the stamps were cancelled:

Already soaked them off and are ready to be reused.

Nice stamps Goldie.

I was sure that some of the AAT animal set shown were worth much more than face. Perhaps it was the 9c?

In the stamp collecting world, we call them "glue-stick stamps".

This reminds me I've almost run out of the stamps I got from PPH... wonder if there are any more available?

Receiving quite a number of items with uncancelled stamps.  Are the AP workers too busy or too lazy to cancel them?

Like Goldy said, No Wonder AustPost Is Going Broke.

There is a lady that works at the little General Store that is also my Post Office that absolutely Loves it when I get a package with a mass of the older stamps in smaller denominations, as I nearly always strip the package and hand over the stamps to he for her collection.
I imagine that these stamps are probably sourced from unfranked letters in the first place which doesn't bother me in the least , As long as I get my package all is good.
I doubt that Aus Post is that concerned with the tiny percentage of postage stamps that are being "Reused" and they are a great source of stamps for some collectors anyway :good:
