In a issue of the Stamp Bulletin, issue January-February 2015, Page 10 showed a Limited Edition Medallion Cover to celebrate the Victoria Cross. A total of 3,000 was to be issued and this one was NOT on standing orders.
I phoned in the day I received the Issue and ordered this Medallion Cover.
Today I received a letter to say I had no money in my account. I phoned up and they realized that my outstanding order was debited to an old debit card that was disposed of years ago.
I gave them the new details of my present dibit card which they confirmed that they already had and as such they would release the held up order.
I asked what was in the outstanding order and no mention was made of the VC Medallion Limited Edition. They informed me that although the Stamp Bulletin indicated 3,000 would be issued, a far less quantity was receivwed and distributed to "phone in orders only".
I asked what about those with standing orders and was informed "that as there was insufficient covers to fill all standing orders, that the covers would only be issued to those "that phoned in". I did phone in to ensure that I would receive one as per my standing order.
What I am complaining or dirty about is that I have not received any communications to advise me of the this shortfall or the reason why I have not received it.
I will be sending a rather nasty letter to Philatelic Management airing my disgust at the way I, and in many other cases have been treated by them.
It makes me wonder why I continue to collect not only Medallion Covers but PNC's and coins in general.
Gee GS sorry to hear mate, I hope you get it sorted and hope this doesn't put you off too much and you keep collecting because it would be a shame to lose you :friends:
Yeah,i've had a couple of dramas with phone orders over the years, they seem to stuff up the numbers on Credit Cards somehow and not tell you the order wasn't processed, that was all over 4 years ago however so i guess they have streamlined the system now.Thats how long since i bought anything out of the Stamp Bulletin.
9am, Thursday, 12 Mar 15 took a phone call from a lady who works for Philatelic named Denise, the lady I spoke to yesterday and complained like heck to her.
She advised me this morning that she had made a complaint on my behalf to higher authority and that a VC Medallion had been found and would be forwarded.
That is great and I thanked her for her actions etc but I had to inform her that late yesterday, I had a secured a VC Medallion Cover off EBay for $85.00 BIN.
Earlier this evening I drafted and downloaded a letter of complaint to Philatelic laying out the full story as well as the action of Denise.
I trust that Denise will be called into the office and given a very well earned pat on the back and raspberries to the higher echelon of AustPost Philatelic.
