Thanks mate
Not a problem cobba, bit of light reading but hope it helps and if you need more help either post in the thread or start a new one :good:
I use my trusty CanoScan 5600F Scanner and scan at 1200DPI after reducing the area to be scanned.
I have done over 300 of my coins with the scanner but you just don't get the eye appeal.
Yes I agree, it takes the life out of the coin and some times you have to take a pic on an angle and especially if your trying to capture cartwheeling or colours like the rainbow coins and some errors show up better on an angle as well. Look at Mark's posts as he's really good at it and you'll see he says to use lots and lots of lights, so yes I need to get more lights
I use a Kaiser Baas USB scope and do all my editing in Photoscape. But some of the images posted by others put my measly efforts to shame. :blush2:
Markn's images are spectacular and he does go into details elsewhere on the forum as to how he achieves them.
I use a Nikon D3200 DSLR Camera with a Tamron SP AF90 F/2.8 Macro lens Mounted on a sturdy Tripod.
I use a couple of "Ott" lights and will be getting some stronger lights as per Marks advice.
No where near perfect yet But a huge improvement on my scanner or my old "Point and Shoot" Camera :ok:
With a bit more practice and experimentation with lighting, Settings and backgrounds I will get there eventually.:yahoo:

Do you have a remote shutter release (or maybe computer control) trout?

You have a built in self timer in camera
that will release the shutter for you, hands free.
This will remove any camera movement
that you introduce by physically pressing the shutter.
The Nikon D3000 series do not have computer tethering enabled.
