Here in Brissie it's been raining all day and most of last night.

I hope that the Bureaucrats don't wait until the last minute to let some water out of the dams like they did in 2011, and then try and blame it on someone else.

Hopefully there's someone with common sense in charge now.

Yeah but hotter temperatures/global warming means that southern
Qld is sucking up a lot of the heavy weather that North Qld gets
every year.We regularly get 300mm+ of rain in any given 24hr period

Maybe that stupid pipeline that Jeff Kennett wanted to pipe excess water from Qld to Vic wasn't such a bad idea after all.

But the cost, phew!

I reckon it is great idea and should have been built about 80 years ago

Ex Premier Beattie said they(Qld) have plans dating back to the depression(1930's) to pipe water South to NSW,Vict. & SA.

should have done it

imagine the $$$ QLD could earn and the $$$ they would have saved on things like flood damage recovery

and imagine the ability to save our farmers in times of drought ?

old Joe was too busy building himself fancy roads into Kingaroy and not putting more into infrastructure for QLD

we'd drive hundreds of miles when I was a  kid (out west QLD)
one year - bulldust and dead cattle & sheep all the way
next year - plain floods and bog

I used to think about ways of capturing water run off, building more dams and long distance pipelines when I was a teenager

should have done engineering

had 3 in the family but I am not one of them!! ha ha

I think Bradfield is one of the projects Beattie was talking about but there were others.
