Title: Possible 1966 20c Wavy 2 Baseline
Post by: b_j_w_79 on January 20, 2015, 03:31:02 PM
I found this today and I'm thinking it's a wavy 2 baseline. I'm asking everybody else for an opinion! What do you think?

Hi Ben,
You should know one of these by now.
YES, it has all the signs;
•upsweep on left top of bottom stroke of the 2
•matching curve on water swirl directly over
•narrowing of down stroke of 2 (RHS) right at the bottom.

I don't like the look of that green stuff though!

Cheers,
Jeff

I'm hoping it will be twins, or even triplets, or perhaps quids ... I mean quads!

I know I should know by now Jeff but it's been a while........a long while. I'll have a look and see and let everybody know! The green stuff is a problem. Any/best treatment suggestions?

Thanks for the replies everyone, it's appreciated :yahoo:

I looked up the last time I found a wavy 2 and it was 04/06/2010.

That's $27,742 worth of 20c coins between finds or 138710 20c coins. Had basically given up on finding more. So much so I only took the $100 in 20c coins out because the bank teller had to go out the back to get the $2 (still no site of green where I am except on the wavy), 50c and 10c coins I was going to search. I tried to talk myself out of it being a wavy.

I concur with all the comments above.

It is one of the only things I have not been able to noodle.   I have only noodled 61,00 x 20c pieces.

Nice work.

I've never found a wavy base in 30 years of searching
