Does anyone know how to tell if an ebay account has been hijacked?
I started selling a few items. 8 out of 10 were successfully processed.
The remaining 2 items were won by the same person. They have advised they paid, but there is sign that they have paid. They have also not sent me their payment advice. Communication with them is poor; 2 emails exchanged over 10 days. The name on the email (Darren & Venloe) also doesn't align with the name of the ebay account marie.bourke. The ebay account does have good feedback up until quite recently.
As this is my first time selling on ebay, I'm a little lost. I was wondering if there any clues as to whether this account may have been hijacked?
I've given them until Friday to sort it out or I'll re-post the items on ebay.
Anyone have any other advice?
I assume you mean there is 'no sign' they have paid.
I would do exactly what you are doing.
Thanks Nightparrot. You are correct in that there is no sign they have paid.

After 4 days you can advise ebay as not being paid and then cancel the order after another 3 days to get your fees back
I usually re-send the invoice after a reasonable time without payment (your call as to what is reasonable) and, then if no action, lodge an unpaid item claim with eBay. EBay then contacts the buyer and gives them four days to pay; after that you can cancel the sale, get a refund of the fees and relist the item.
I also suggest that the bidder then be immediately added to your blocked bidders list.
Have a look here What to do when a buyer doesn't pay (unpaid item process) (http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sell/unpaid-items.html). Unfortunately non payers are a (too common) fact of life on eBay.
Be sure to do your checking in My eBay and not the details in any emails they have sent or appear to have sent. You should easily be able to see if the buyer has completed checkout.
eBay also automatically send out reminder/notification emails to customers about the sale.
my gripe: some buyers think this means a lack of communication from the seller and will reward you with a lacking of rating stars
