Hello,

I don't remember who said it, but my GF said it was her ( middle ) daughter !

To Clarify,

I think a Workmate said he had heard that liking purple ( other than Coins I am sure ) was a sign of sexual frustration. My GF then said it sounds like [insert name of middle daughter here] Another Mate has a wife who loves purple, maybe I should have a word. Not ! And now for the trivia, the word purple like orange has no other that rhymes with it. 2 Colours, fancy that !

I hope this puts things in context, I was concerned my Post could have been taken in a different way.

I also love purple, although in recent years I've sort of cottoned onto hot pink as well.

My love of purple began at School when each child was assigned a 'house' for sport purposes that stayed with them throughout their stay at school.

Each 'house' had a colour and my house was Wisteria, and Wisteria's colour was purple. Other houses were Wattle which was yellow and Waratah which was Red.

In ancient times purple die was very hard and expensive to make so only the top echelon could afford purple raiments -hence the association with royalty.

Hello,

I thought / was told that purple comes from something in the Mediterranean Ocean, a shell fish or something which is why most inks are purple. Red was more expensive. May have to research it out of curiosity.

I thought it was from a shellfish too. But, when I checked up, I found snails were the go.

Hello,

Well, there you go. More trivia to remember. My teachers lied to me ! Knowing some teachers, I don't find it hard to believe that they were wrong. I wont comment further about this.
