Title: 2014 Aussie Crocodile $1
Post by: Goose on January 05, 2015, 01:44:49 PM
Drove 285 km (170 miles) round trip today to attend a coin show. I picked up the 2014 silver Australian $1 Saltwater Crocodile coin....to me a beautiful coin. I paid $24 (U S) for it. Is that an average price for that coin? I see some on U S eBay at a starting bid of $22 U S.

Yes, that's the coin. It's 40.6 mm dia. which is a larger dia. than our old silver dollars at 38.1 dia. I also noticed that there are 6 horizontal indentations equally spaced at 60 degrees on the reeded edge. Was this due to the minting process?
