There are some great variety experts on the forum who will know but it looks to me like the edge of another coin has hit the face and left those marks, probably as the coins exit the press.....

These types of marks are very common and are caused by impact from the edge of another coin. The minting process is pretty brutal on coins the way they get knocked around.

Thank you Nevol, the squigle is the outside of coin rim landing at different angles while still warm  i spose, that would make this deppresion. Maybe a Mint tour wouldnt hurt me.

Thanks again

After a while, you'll get the hang of telling strikethroughs and bagmarks apart.

Easiest thing to look out for is the edges of the hole. A strikethrough happens under great pressure, and the metal has nowhere to go, so you get a sharp edge, like the top of a cliff that's slightly undercut. PMD, which bagmarks technically are, happen with no pressure on the surrounding metal, and it deforms around the impact point. Sort of like smacking something into the ground... the hole has a raised, rounded edge.

Also, strikethroughs usually happen singly if its a foreign object like a hair or bit of wire. Lots of them are pretty much always PMD.
