Hi,
I live on the Central Coast and went to get my coin from the RSL today.
The guy in charge was chatting with me. He had no limit on coins. They are in a little satchel bag stapled to the card.
He insisted I take his card and recommend him on this forum.
If you can't get any, the RSL has heaps. He wanted me to do a bulk order, but I don't see why he wouldn't post them for you.
If you want his details, send me a PM (I don't think I should be putting phone numbers out in cyber space).
P.S: He was also having a big grumble about the quality of the coins. He had a pile of 20 'defective' coins. All where the poppy hadn't stamped properly. He said the mint doesn't offer a warranty and they have thousands of coins that can't be sold, and that they have to pay for.
Hi Naomi,Tell him to sell them as variety/errors,it's not right the RSL have pay for such poor quality coins if they can't on sell them.

I was talking to him about that actually. I was so tempted to take a few and get rid of them on ebay, but if they didn't sell, I'd be up for the money... it was just the pad printing, not the coin itself.
Of the $10 they sell them for how much did it cost the RSL to get the $2 coins? I expect the RAM sold them at a premium of the $2 face or else just chuck them back into circulation for $2.
I also wonder if these "dodgy"coins are worthy as errors or they are just shoddy manufacturing printing process. Aren't people selling the hyper-metallic colour printed mint set coins that have been printed slightly askew at a premium?

I agree. The RAM shouldn't be profiteering out of remembrance day. Does anyone know if the c mintmarked coins (sold for $12.95) have any disclaimer such as "proceeds from the sale of this coin will be donated to ...." because nothing is mentioned on the website which implies that the RAM will make a nice profit out of Remembrance Day.
PS the RSL coins are also available on the SA RSL site. I've already bought a couple.
Thanks for the heads up on SA RSL site. I ordered some from there last night.
I'm a bit disappointed to see some of the RSL ones (no mintmark) on eBay at prices well above the $10 donation paid for them.
They paid $2 for so whatever they don't sell they could spend or bank with no loss

I've heard that the mintage is 500,000 for the RSL coins so there are plenty of them around. Its just the RSL arn't coin dealers so they have struggled a bit with the distribution.
I understand that each state HQ was allocated x amount of coins. Then State HQ issued to RSL Clubs as per the ANZAC Poppy Day appeals.
I got mine from Vic State HQ at sa limit of one per person.
