When you reply to a post or start a thread, look for this above the area you type in:

Just choose the icon you want. Any one of these can be placed at the beginning of your post. I just chose the little pink heart, but I've pointed out the little green bug for you. Have fun! :wavemulticolor:

On Tuesday, was handed a Korean War $1 in change.

Mark and I spent about an hour at the pokies tonight and managed to pull out not one but 2 mintmark Parkes dollars, an A and B, a planchet flaw Smithy and a proof 1987, none of which are in particularly good condition and I got free Minties!

I still can't get over the fact that some people just spend them. Rip open the packaging and spend it! Granted some are worth not much over face but a lot of them are worth well over! And they've spent them for a dollar.

Nice work Karl.

Years ago when Julie and I were at the mint and doing a couple hundred coins, we were stepping back after each batch to give the punters a shot. During one of these breaks we were dumbfounded to see a guy ask his mate to lend him a dollar, and the mate handed him the one he'd just made, which went right in the slot! I mentioned this to the shop staff, and they were not surprised. Said they got quite a lot of newly minted coins in the hoppers. Un-Be-Lieve-Able! :/

If one does some noodling around the clubs in the ACT and other clubs close to the ACT, one will find quite a few "mint" $1 coins.

Dats der von.   I found mine at crown whilst noodling a couple of years ago.   I only saw some of the ribbon and knew straight away that it was the VC coin.

In my humble opinion, the VC coin is the Scarcest to find if noodling.

Lol yeh it was a nice find, it was a toss up who found it with me and my nephew, I spotted it and he picked it up. Lucky I had another $1 coin in my pocket otherwise it could have went to the lolly machine. I reckon that someone would have just dropped that coin no more than and hour before we found it. Is in real nice condition.

As I said on Coin Community, I noodled two coins from that series during the early part of last year, and it took me a while to realise they were NCLT. I thought the mint had decided to sneak a few more commemoratives into circulation, and I was bitterly disappointed when I realised that wasn't the case. :cray:

I actually have the mint gallery version that a family member who was visiting Canberra got for me that year, and it looks identical to the one Rolly found. Hence, when I look at the one with the "E" mintmark, I'm surprised to see that it's so close to the flagpole.
