is it true that we cannot post any coins over to the united states any more ???

I was told this at the post office this morning .      ,, kel ,,

I don't believe it , but they would not except the package from me .

Eric , Walter , trout , and others send coins over every day to PCGS

to be graded , it made no difference to him , he would not take it ..

I just use Airmail + Extra Cover which should include signature on delivery , and declare as numismatic material.
You don't have to tell them what's in the parcel do you ?

Sorry Kel, I've miss quoted you  but it was fun. :yahoo: I feel like a media person :dodgy:

Thinking about your question though, yes, under these circumstances, what could  happen to TPG submissions?

Australia Post have always had the rule that you cannot send money in the mail. We always say tokens for coins and paper notes are called documents.

Jens is correct; The problem is at Australia Post's end, not USPS. Your postal worker is misinformed, in that it's not a new rule, and it's not just to America; it's always been against regulations to send money in non-Registered mail, and "coins" are money. Since Registered mail doesn't cover overseas mail, there is no proper way to send coins overseas.

If you don't want to lie on a customs form, say "stamped metal discs" instead of "coins". It's still technically true. Or, if that's too weaselly for you, try "numismatic items". It's absolutely true and you've got a pretty good chance nobody in the postal system between you and the recipient will know what "numismatic" means.

The registered post tear away slip has coins listed as OK but they have to be carefully packed. It days banknotes are mot covered. Domestic post. If it's pre decimal I always put medallion or token.

I always say, "Hobby Items"......so far it works.

Here is the Australia Post rule, which can be found here Dangerous and prohibited goods and packaging guide (http://auspost.com.au/media/documents/Dangerous-and-prohibited-goods-guide-Dec2014.pdf);
QuoteD3.2 – Banknotes and coins
Banknotes are currency notes that are legal tender in the country of issue.
Australian notes of whatever age, currency or denomination are legal tender
within Australia.
Coins are coinage in either Australian or foreign currency and includes coins
made from precious metals whether or not such coins have a denomination.
Australia Post prohibits banknotes or currency notes and coins in:
•the International Post
•all services within Australia, except Registered Post, or a parcel service in
conjunction with Extra Cover and Signature on Delivery.
In Registered Post or parcel services when used in conjunction with
Extra Cover and Signature on Delivery within Australia, Australia Post
accepts banknotes or coins to a maximum face value of A$200 in any one
consignment. However, Australia Post accepts no liability for the loss of or
damage to any such articles containing banknotes.

This is the latest revision of the document, dated December 2014. My previous comment about no specific restriction on international post is now wrong and out of date.

I have sent hundreds of coins over to the US to be graded and every time I simply put "Numismatic Items" on the description and I haven't had any dramas whatsoever.

I strongly suggest that you use a different Post Office , The one you are using at the moment is making things all too hard for you mate.
I would personally tell whoever is giving you this ridicules "Run Around" where to shove his little rubber stamp and take my business elsewhere :ok:

Like Trout, I have also sent hundreds of coins overseas without a problem. I list them as "hobby supplies - metal discs".

Hi Kel,   From what set do you need the cards.   All up there has been four or five different sets.

Please advise as to what set is required.

I can supply a full set of the Top Gear Cards,  a full set of the Green backed Xmas set, a full set of the blue backed Super animals set.

Wifey asks do you have the child's address, if so, lets have it please.

I'm sure you'll get more responses, and I give Goldy and Mrs Goldy a pat on the back for their generosity. :yahoo:

you have to delete the messages Kel
BUT then you have to 'empty the trash'(delete the deleted) or your mailbox will still be full

Kel,
You can just delete selected messages to free up mailbox space; usually the oldest ones.
It is easy to cut and paste messages before you delete them, if you want to keep a record. Paste them into a Word or notepad (or similar) document.

I have just had my faith in people kicked out from under me .
I have had my feedback reduced from 100% down to 98% because I cancelled the sale to the guy in the usa when aust post would not except my parcel because I put coin on the customs form .I wrote to him and ebay and ebay told me to cancel the sale and I did that .
then I came onto the forum and asked you people and was told what to do , so I wrote to him again and told him I had relisted the 2 items and to bid again and I would know how to post to him with no worries , I never heard anything back from him till now , then today or last night he gave me this bad feedback , I am shocked by this ..

Contact EBay and tell them what happened and they will remove that negative feedback.

I just rang eBay on the phone , explained all of what happened , and the guy said he has to go explain to his boss what happened , he came back and told me he could not do anything about ,
the whole time on the phone was 1 hour 17 minutes .

this sale was finished on the 18/12/2014 and it has taken almost 6 weeks for him to leave me this kind of feedback . all my listings from now on will show AUSTRALIAN BIDS ONLY , NO BIDS ACCEPTED OUTSIDE OF AUSTRALIA  ,, kel ,,

I think you mean "accepted" instead of "excepted; otherwise it is a confusing message.

If you go to your account details page and select 'Site Preferences', Postage preferences', 'Exclude postage locations from your listings' then 'Edit' you can make your listings refuse to accept bids from any or all other countries or groups of countries.
