Is there a way to get the number of coins graded by PCGS during a period - such as by month or year?
For instance,
Nov 2014
Florin
1959 - none
1960 - graded 4 at MS62, 1 at MS63, 1 at MS64
1961 - graded 2 at MS64
1962 - graded 5 at MS61
1963 - graded 1 at MS63
If not by month then by year? Is it just a matter of looking at the site and doing the comparison yourself?
Want to know how often a new example of a certain grade gets found and graded. If MS65 was the finest, how likely are we going to find a MS66 for predecimals.
I think PCGS has Coinfacts for the US coins. Not for Australian coins though.
Walter (wwww) might have what you are looking for on his Blusheet (via subscription).
I have a greensheet subscription. There is population data there. But not historical. Guess that's probably the next level up.

The greensheet is the dealers price list not the subscription level (there is the greensheet, redsheet and bluesheet as the lists) . There is bronze, silver, gold and platinum as the subscription levels. Perhaps someone with gold level might like to comment on what is and isn't available?

I have a gold subscription and that sort of data is unavailable on Blue sheet.
I imagine the only people privy to that sort of data work for PCGS or NGC.
Both companies have a population report but none of them supply the dates when graded :ok:
It's not available via the Blue Sheet but we do retain such data. It sounds like a good idea so I'll add it to the list of features to implement in the next version of the Blue Sheet.

Do you need links to other members past submissions to help collect that data Walter?
sounds like a lot of work to me
it would have to be updated monthly (or annually?) and for every pre-decimal coin
or beyond to the decimals
would it really be a used resource for such a lot of work?

Not one of my "Holy Grails" :)
the pop sheets are quite good enough :ok:

All I was thinking is if someone has gone to the PCGS population reports and export them into say, Excel regularly
http://www.pcgs.com/pop/detail.aspx?c=5027&pf=1&t=3&p=MS
Then all you have to do is compare the previous one and you have what new examples PCGS has graded during that period. A spreadsheet can do that for you more or less automatically. It would take a bit of effort to set it up. But afterwards you can pretty much push a button for new results every month/year. Walter seems to have this data already - may be there is even a more elegant way.
The difficult part is building up the history.
I am curious to know how frequently a really high MS is turning up these day still for the pre-decimals.
