hi all , I was going through my coins today and came across 3 x 1983 twenty cent coins in pretty good condition .
do you reckon they are still worth keeping ?? thank you all for
answers .. ,, kel ,,
sorry folks , my mistake again , they are .50 cents coins not .20
cents coins .. ,, kel ,,
Great designs.
Bluesheet:
Army - $6,12,20,50 (MS64-67)
Air Force - $4,6,16,30 (MS64-67)
(I guess you already knew that too.)
is the bluesheet mostly for coins that are PCGS slabbed?
I have found with selling on ebay that the cat. value and the sale value can be world's apart & then it depends on the popularity of the item and the seller etc etc
I am more like you Kel and I research the maccas catalogue value then the completed sales on ebay to get a general estimate for the listing price
I have had the suggestion before - go to maccas and take 2/3 off - that it the likely sale price!
good luck with your sale whichever venue you choose
ps that is why we set up an ebay shop - you can have buy it now and the thing can be up for years before it sells & then many sales are from the 'make an offer' option as well. But the ebay store is $50 a month, mind you. Some months are very lean indeed.
Yep. FWIW... Greensheet:
Army 2001-C Business strikes
UNC $3
CHU $4
GEM $6
RAAF 2001 Business strikes
UNC $2
CHU $3
GEM $4
$50/month for eBay store..... that's steep!
thanks folks , that is a long way from Greg's book prices , if I had
known that I would never had listed them .. ,, kel ,
Kel,
A quick look at ebay finished listings tell a more definitive
(Some might say sad) tale, especially the Navy coin.
Navy in Card selling at $25
without card $10 (I'd keep it at $10)
Air Force in card $9.50
Army S or C in card $7.00
The set of four coins seem to change hands
at just over the $40 mark.
The '97 Smithy in card are not selling,
there are a couple of singles sold for $5.
The discrepancies between blue/green sheet values is the card and folder?
fair enough guys , I think I will keep them for a while at them prices but thanks for your answers .. ,, kel ,,
you never know Kel
there are all sorts of collectors out there
a lot of collectors or 'gift for a family member' type of buyer are happy to pay what they think is a fair price
not everyone is out to get coins cheap as chips to flip

You would need Walter to answer that.
From those Green Sheet prices it would appear
they are derived from Numisbid Auction results.
The buyer demographic on Numisbid is totally different
to the average ebay buyer.
anybody care to guess the going price of a mule dollar slabbed and
graded by PCGS at 55 and
another one graded at 50 .
thanks in advance . ,, kel ,,

the au50 would be less
30 years from now I would say they will be worth 10-20 times more and in the past they have sold for more but the current market is a buyers market so they are cheap for what they are hence why I get as many as I can.
I am sure other people will say its worth more but lets see them put their money where their mouth is and buy them if that is what they think instead of sledging what other people offer to pay. its easy to have an opinion on price when your not paying the money out
thanks Adam , that is a good price I recon , but this is my first one I found , so it has sentel mentel value to me , since this one found I have found another 7 of them , only have 3 left now , 2 slabbed and one not slabbed or graded , and I believe better then the one for sale by peter Andrews at present on ebay , for over $ 600.00 .
mine has a better double circle then that one of his . maybe next year it may also go for a return trip to the U S A . then I will be happy with my 3 SLABBED MULES ...
adam , thank you for your answer .. ,, kel ,,
In MS grades these Mules are rather special, But in circulated grades the are over valued IMHO.
Look at the incused 50 cent coin for instance.
In lower grades $20-$30 but in MS grades we are talking 1k upwards, These coins have a simular mintage as far as we know and yet the Mule coin has a higher profile/value.
In 20-30 years the collectors will work that out for themselves :ok:
so true jim , I would never buy one of them , to dear for me ,
but if I find one and can get $ 400.00 plus for it , I believe that is a nice profit for me to buy some think that I want ,and I can get more then one coin for the money , so I am pleased with that ,
I was always after a gold sovereign or even a half sovereign , but after looking at them and the difference in the prices I was completely
confused . to many different sorts with England / Australia
and tails sides with shields / st George and different monarchs queens and kings to choose from so I decided to give them a miss . ,, kel ,,
feebay completed listings is probably the best place to get prices Kel as bluesheet is way out just the same as any other price guide and they say to take 1/3 off bluesheet before you start so it's a ripoff really for what it costs and what you get. It seems that only coins sold on numisbids makes it onto the list now as some predecimal proofs I've bought didn't make it onto the sheet and one was a PR66 florin that I thought would have made it for sure but didn't for some reason.
