Kel, sorry to hear that things are not going well. It's always terribly sad when someone is forced into doing something (like selling off a collection), but real life often gets in the way.

Perhaps you might want to post any items you need to sell on the forum as opposed to ebay. While the forum has less people buying than ebay, there are no fees and members are generally more understanding than the ebay public. Just a thought.

Hope you get a good report back from the quack.

your not alone sweetie I went thru the same thing after the accident, your family are no1 and love you unconditionally and will always be there for you, the forum is a nice distraction and something that kept me going a fantastic hobby with great people involved in sharing information and a friendly ear, find something to keep your mind off things and occupied, I went back to water colour for a bit, it was a nice relaxing escape, also gardening, now I have thrown myself into working for Walter and enjoy learning and seeing "pretty" coins everyday!
I am still healing a getting myself back together, but now I have something to work towards, scared myself a day or two ago with not having my blood clot as fast as it would have in the past, sooked to mummy of course about it, she said it may take a while for blood thinner to wear off even after months, and found out this morning that one of my school friends died in a freak accident, I just had a tear then went to work, yeah working is the main thing now

Quote from: 'keldaw' pid='60607' dateline='1412732274'hi cox , so true mate , so true , but at the moment I am not allowed to even drive the car , and I cant lift anything over 2 kg for 6 weeks , but I am just still think positive ,  but I have asked my children and my wife about the coins and they all tell me to sell the coins and enjoy the money , they are really not interested in the coins .

I did not put the coins up on the forum because I did not want people feeling sorry for me and thinking I was looking for sympathy
so I thought this was the fairest way to get rid of some of my collection , . I am quite happy the way things are going and the money I am raising will be there just in case ..maybe next month I will offer some others I have to the members first , they will be the ones that I have had for years and need to move but the prices on offer just now are only about 3/4 % of what I have paid for them ..
no problems this end , I am still breathing . that,s the main thing .
opps , sorry I am starting to rave on like my old mate ******.   sorry mate you know I am only joking , but it,s a bit sad when youre a bit down and no one to talk to .. LOVE YOU ALL .   ,, KEL ,,

Hey mate, I think trying to sell your coins here would be a good idea... no fee and people will pay a fair price... good luck with everything...

Hello,

If you sell through the Forum, both parties will get a better deal. You may even be able to negotiate a buy back of some sort, like a Pawn shop. Hopefully when things change for the better. You can always replace Coins, but it would be nicer to have all the originals later. IMO

I wouldn't mind having a go at the 2001 COF Upsets but I shall keep quiet and let someone else try and get them.

I have had up to 493 of them but over time have been giving them away, selling, making up clockfaces and swapping and only have around 240 left.

thanks for the quotes guys and I have tried them ,  but going by the replys I have received  ( only one reply ) it may be better for all concerned that I do my selling on ebay from now on , I may have to pay fees but at least I get some idea if I am asking to much or to cheap or not .here I am just ignored if people think I am asking to much money for my coins .  I am not upset I just like to know where I stand and not get shoved of to the side if I don't talk about the valuable coins , that I have no interest in because I don't have any
and I cannot afford to compete with others on this forum .
please read my other post and I think you all will understand where this forum is heading . like the Qantas club , only the upper class allowed in ..    ,, kel ,,

thanks ausproof,s at least I got an answer from you .
and I really thank you for it ,
good or bad answers does not matter , its just nice to read some different post every day ..

kel, the message I deleted was for me to sell coins.   Then I realized that THIS thread was for you to sell coins.

Yeas, I have followed your thread from the beginning and unless I was prepared to buy some of the coins, I wouldn't say a thing.

The prices you set is your business, fair or otherwise.   If people want to pay your price(s) then that price must have been fair.

that's ok bruce , thanks for replying to me .
and I must say , thank you for talking to me about it
that sounds better then saying thanks for posting back to me ,
talking sounds more personal then posting anyway ..

and the bit about pricing  , well I don't know anything about pricing , so I just put what I think it is worth to me , and I look it up in my maccas book and go from there , well this is what this all about , and I believe it is what the newer guys want too , is for the experienced guys to help them out and let them know if they think the prices are to dear or to cheap , not to just turn their back on the new members and walk away  ,.
  example was with me .
I listed on ebay ,  a 1938 silver crown  for $ 25.00 and one other time I listed a paper $ 5.00 note  for $ 35.00 also the same time another 2 x $ 5.00 notes with cons numbers , thank god a member saw it on ebay the same day and emailed me straight away , the 38 crown should have $ 125.00  and the first note had a special number and sig on it showing it was worth over $ 100.00 more , but it had received a  bid already  , so I wrote to the guy and explained what had happened  and he was very nice about it and sent me the extra
$ 100.00 when he won it on ebay  ,, kel ,,thank you for reading my post everybody ..   ,, kel ..

$125 for an even crappy 38 crown is pretty much a "Steal" Kel.
Maccas and renicks  are way out of touch with the real market prices as soon as they are printed :ok:
It looks like you are liquidating your collections for some reason or another So don't give them away and ask the people here what they are worth before listing them.
We are here to help Mate :good:

not the lot jim , just some  extras that I have like ,

one dollar SUBSCRIPTION SILVER PROOF ISSUES COIN .
ONE DECIMAL CURRENCY BOOK PRICE $ 140.00 CANT GET $ 70.00
                                     half price .
two  OLD PARLIAMENT HOUSE BOOK PRICE $ 90.00 CANT GET
                                    $ 60.00
I bought 6 of these at .$ 50.00 ea now cant even get my money backso I gave one each to my kids and have 4 spares ..
and that is not because the price of silver has gone down , these coins have been on and off ebay for 2 or 3 years they just don't sell .people must already have them or not interested in them .
the bird series x the fish series x  a lot more , look at the carded coins I put on the forum , had them on ebay did not sell even one of them , then put them on the forum no interest shown , so how in the world would dawn know what to do with them when I go , so I have specials parcels made up for my kids and I will sell all the spares that I don't want over the next 12 month I hope ..  dawn tells me ,  kel , stop raving on or they will get sick of you wingding all the time ..
ha ha . no worries mate , its all good , I am going through my treatment with flying colours , every Tuesday . for the next 5 weeks .

Quote from: 'keldaw' pid='62482' dateline='1416174981'thanks mark , but isn't that what I have done on page 4 ,
 ( go back 1 page )
I asked  : am I fair or not : in other words are my prices fair or to dear , only 1 response , .
I don't make much profit on my sales but I do it as a hobby , giving me something to do , and I am happy with that . because we live out of town and I am to sick to use my boat just now , so I am either at the drs , on the pc , or asleep .
I paid $ 200.00 for this lot , after looking up the prices in macka book
I offered them at $ 250.00 with free registered post , and I asked the members am I fair with my prices or not , before I list them on ebay , and I got only 1 reply from AUSPROOFS only , that tell me every member has already got them or are not interested in them , that's ok , no problems , but I thought I would have more answers telling me I was to cheap , to dear , or whatever , I even said I take no offence to any answers given .  I feel now that I have to sell them on ebay as single items and that is a big job for me , and I am only allowed so many item to list each month .. but no problems , I am happy and that is the main thing ..  thanks for reading my post ..  ,, kel ,,

Did you?  I didn't see it, and, I suspect neither did many other people.  The trouble is this thread is 6 pages long and (to be honest), has strayed far from it's original topic, and I don't read it anymore.  You're better off starting a NEW thread in the correct forum (like the Coin Chit Cat Forum (http://www.australian-coins.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=14)) whenever you have items you want valued.  And give it a sensible topic name like "VALUATION REQUEST PLEASE" and you'll probably get some good responses.  There's no point burying your requests in the middle of long threads that have strayed off topic.

I usually get around $25 to $30 for one like that on eBay. But it does take a lot of noodling to make a reasonable set.

Keldaw,

I may be interested in a set of the 2001 20 Cent coins. Your price is far better than I have seen anywhere. If you still have sets left, PM me and I can send a money order before you Post. I don't know how many Vic and Tas Coins you have, but I have a number of spares. Bottom line you can leave either or both out if it would help you make up another set. Same price without would also be fine.

Hello Kel,

Got my Coins today and all very nice condition. I had a seniors moment and thought the ACT one was the Canberra centenary ! I checked the date and still had to look at some others...... Dont tell my Woman, she loves stuff like that to bring up later. I am still after the other sets, and I will PM you about them.

Regards Chris
