Title: eBay seller ratings
Post by: trout on September 20, 2014, 02:52:00 PM
Last year I got slammed with a neg and a neutral feedback from the same person for 2 items in the same parcel that Aus Post treated rather badly.
The buyer tried to extort a 50% discount that I refused to give him, Instead I offered to accept the coins back and I would also pay the return postage.
The result was is I scored crappy feedback and the buyer went on my "Naughty List".
My next evaluation is today so hopefully my feedback will return to 100% instead of 99.6%.
I know PP has suffered a similar fate, Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Yes I've had a couple of negatives also about a year ago by unreasonable buyers. One was because I
wouldn't sends seeds illegally to WA even though it was clearly written in the listing.Needless to say I
war furious but there is nothing you can do but thankfully I should be back to a 100% rating by
christmas

I hated it when eBay took away the ability of sellers to leave a crappy buyer a neg.
All we can do now is add them to the "Naughty List" but other unsuspecting sellers are blissfully unaware of a particular scumbag and get shafted as well, just because as a seller there is NO opportunity to warn other sellers about a particular buyer.
Feedback is a good idea and is an indication of how you conduct your self on eBay, I am baffled as to why it is only applied to sellers now though :dash1:

If they have done that then ask eBay to remove the feedback I have had a couple removed because they did not fail in line with eBay's terms of what feedback can consist of

All is Good Mate, Every time I list I get a "Core" of regulars that always show up for a bargain and haven't tried to screw me.
I've been selling on eBay now for 6 yrs and have had a couple of negs in that time, It just goes with the territory I suppose.
I always trade honestly and post stuff as fast as I can Which is what I expect when I buy online myself, It is Bloody annoying when you get a slap in the face that you don't deserve tho :cray:

I have actually refunded money because of a slight error I have made and just copped it on the chin. in general I find most people who I deal with honest it is just the 1% that stand out and ruin it for everyone

We have had very infrequent negs. and ebay has removed a few. We had a rather nasty one from a regular buyer for what was perceived as an item not per description (but it was; the buyer just misread it). She apologised later saying she had had a bad day (I know the feeling).
We include a slip when we post saying;
QuoteThank you for your purchase.
We do appreciate your custom.
Please leave feedback and we will know the item has arrived and we will leave feedback too. If there is any problem, let us know first; so we can investigate.
That seems to work and we don't argue and offer full replacement/refund for any claim that seems reasonable. We also help with any claim where Australia Post may be the culprit.

As a result we have always had 100% positive feedback.

Conversely, if any claim from a buyer has the faintest sniff of "try on" we, immediately banish them to our blocked bidders list but still honour the claim. Accept that there is a minority of ratbags out there and you just have to wear that.

Hello,

I have left both neutral and Neg feedback. I dont try to scam people, and always give them the chance to put it right. Neutral, a wrong Coin was posted. I had to pay the return cost, and wait for it to be received before the correct one was sent. Neg was left after a computer part was missing. I started an Ebay dispute over this one. It was dumped on the doorstep of the wrong house. This was after they left a card at my house, and on the package was a description of where to leave it out of the weather. ( inside a car ) The seller said they left it so nothing he could do.

I dont think I did the wrong thing, I have found AP to be very reliable. Courier companies ? Many are just idiots who need reading lessons. I would like to see them paid by another company in a parcel containing cash. The packaging and delivery are part of the transaction, if the total price is less than elsewhere I buy. if they want a ridiculous price for freight, no thanks.

Personally my experiences with ebay have been plagued by sellers not sending items (you can tell when they refuse to share tracking information it looks suspicious to say the least) which is sad but on a positive note I bought one hell of an ancient of ebay which turned up (would have been crushed if it didn't) and overall was very happy with that one so he got glowing feedback on it.

Overall in terms of ebay I think that yes there are bad buyers out there but gee compare them to the dodgy and dishonest sellers and a bad buyer doesn't seem like that much of a problem.
