I would think that every collector would want at least one Gold coin in his/her collection, The only problem is they are So expensive and hard to justify spending so much money on a single coin.
I agonized over this for many years and finally "Bit the bullet" last year and bought a few sov's out of my tax return.
I should have been "Sensible" and paid off my credit card or added to my super fund But NO I though "Bugger it" I really want a couple of gold coins to add to my collections.
I am so glad I did because I had the opportunity to acquire a small number of sovereigns and this coin.
For a nearly 300 year old skinny Gold coin it has handled the time really well .
I regret NOTHING :)

NICE
But I much prefer mine in 2x2's or mounted in plastic , Not soldered to something  :)
I payed for the gold not the coin. it just came in coin form.
I actually got the double sov from cash converters. they had it listed as a normal sovereign priced higher than a sov should be.
I went "I will take that" at the price they were asking and still got it under melt :)
I just got this under melt

It's an Austrian ducat restrike. They were struck from 1915 to 1955 (I think). 0.1106 of a gram of gold in each one.

That is an awful lot of intricate detail to put on such a tiny amount of Gold :good:
Mark's coin looks similar to serials' one
but the tail feathers are different and the obv. bust is much more ornate
I can't figure out the denominations of either mind you

Serial's coin is a 4 Ducat restrike (1920-1936)
Denomination on base of reverse. (4)
Mark's is a Trade Ducat,
looks like the Proof type restrike.
Don't think there is a denomination on it.
mine is huge as well!
thin but big!
this may help give you an idea of size
