I wonder why you would put a 1930 penny on Ebay.
Don't have to wait long for a coin auction from a reputable  auction house to happen.

they prob take way to much fees, then gst, tax and everyone else, if I put a 1930 of the bay, would have put more than two pics up, and a close up of date, ya know.. just saying

At an auction he might not get a higher bid, the auctioneers fees (buyers and sellers) will take 20%+ and it might take months.

I was told you can count the dots "denticles", the zero is a certain way and the dots don't line up with certain letters, but without a certain detailed pic, I just don't bother, I didn't put effort into learning penny like I did threepence

yes AC there is a certain science to these rare coins
seller mostly sells children's clothing items so perhaps not a collector/seller who understands the coin?

personally I think that the con is a fake

Yeah,me too, about 90% sure its a fake, left hand(as you look at it) side of zero looks a bit fat but really a job for experts to decide.
Museum specimen on left.

The ALIA looks like they line up correctly & the obverse is Indian , you would expect the 0 to look a little different to the Proof .

You would think the seller would remove from holder and put up a few more closeup photos of the 1930  , i couldn't be bothered to strain my eyes  if real or not , anyone that bids on that is a bidiot

That sends off warning bells, flashing lights & a lock down, why would anyone(except a complete moron) not take a $20,000 coin out of a 20c holder to photo.

If that's the case, and it is a date change, this is possibly a 1931 Dropped 1 Indian Obverse penny.
A coin rarer than the 1930 penny itself.

Who knows but i think the 3 is wrong as well without starting on the 9 or 1,it may also be another Chinese copy, they're very close to getting them near perfect.
Its not a dropped 1 Indian, member on this Forum has one and there is a dot after the S on the Obverse apparently. Trying to find photo. in another Thread.

It wouldn't be that hard to remove a dot, the unscrupulous do it to 1920 pennies,  not that I think this happened to this coin.

I've got no doubt Neal, there are some very clever people out and about looking to exploit on-line market places.

The 1931 Indian dropped 1 photo is on page 111.
