Title: New applicants
Post by: Nevol on June 04, 2014, 07:31:25 AM
Just letting you know that I have sent a message to Raritiescoinlover last night at around 9.30 asking for confirmation that he/she is not a spammer.  The IP resolves to Malaysia and comes up on a few of the IP Blacklists I check newbies on.  I gave them 72 hrs to get back to me.

My IP even comes up on 1 or 2 of the sites, so I don't think it's fair to just deny membership on that basis.

I don't have a problem with you accepting their membership Nancy.

I want to comment that Shanew's MS68 must be an APCGS grading but I'll be good.

Well, Jeff and I have come to the conclusion that, despite his protestations on CCF and to trout, Shane is in fact APCGS.  He has several Ebay ID's, and the location of 1 of them is very close to APCGS in Port Macquarie.

He likes to put people off his scent, by claiming to live in Qld, but as I told Jeff, Shane has more smokes and mirrors than Houdini ever had.

Just letting you know that I have sent a message to new applicant geko2012 this morning.  I actually deleted him/her yesterday, but is back again today, so I am giving them 48 hrs to get back to me and prove they are not a spammer.

Just heard back from him, he's in.

Re the latest applicant: aussie1984.

I've sent her an email requesting confirmation that she wants to join TACF.  Her IP comes up on a couple Blacklists, so I want to make sure she's genuine.

BTW Mark, I didn't get a forum email advising that there was a new applicant, just noticed her on the bottom of the Front page. :dontknow:

That's a bit odd.  Is it in your spam folder?

I definitely didn't receive any message from the forum, can't think what might be wrong. :scratch_one-s_head:

Latest applicant has been contacted, as the IP does come up on 2 blacklists.  I feel he will be OK though, as the IP resolves to Buderim, Qld.

I got my message this time.

Had to send an email via my private system, as no option in the forum for either email or PM? A bit odd.

Be careful....just because it says Buderim does not mean it is so.   Could be hacked and that is why it is in the blacklists. I know I would not take a chance.

If he/she sends me unlimited supplies of chocolate coated ginger you can approve their membership.

No worries, if I don't hear back from him, he's gone!

Nancy FYI Oh My Florin asked to change his userid to his new business name. I suggested he start a new id which he has done Royal Numismatics and I have activated this morning.

OK, thanks PPh.  I did send him a 'standard application to Forum message', but good to know who's who. :good:
