Title: Do Coins Cycle Like Real Estate?
Post by: stevo1962 on May 26, 2014, 08:52:39 AM
One thing I have wondered about is if coins values cycle like real estate or are they a bit more erratic than that.If there is a price cycle where would we be on the coin clock today?

Yes, they cycle.  It's down now.  Largely pulled down by the actions of failed dealers trading in overpriced "rarities".  That being said I think it's a great time to be buying.

Yes the silver market seems to be the lowest it's been in years, so a really good question Stevo and makes ya think that's for sure. But coins are a fair bit different from land and houses as it's not very often you loose on land until the market slows like it has also appeared to do but anyway the things that gets me with coins is how the mint can make the same coin and one will be worth a mint so to speak but the rest aren't worth a cracker and there's quite a few eg's of that recently and two I can think of are the black caviar and the 2013 kangaroo and map as some are worth a fair bit and look like they will slowly keep rising but others take a major hit and end up way cheaper than issue price. But yes been thinking serious about more silver while it's down and just sit on it for a few years and just hope it all comes back sooner rather than later :)

i am in a big buying cycle atm silver is cheap and coins are hard to sell so it means a man with money can get good deals.
the trick is to only use surplus cash and don't borrow money to pay for stuff. then you don't have to stress about its value being stagnant

All I want is the price of bullion to go up and then I can start retrieving funds that I have forked out.

Drop the AU$ by 50% or more I would be very happy.......
