Title: Help! I can't get the coins out
Post by: lacey on May 01, 2014, 12:20:44 PM
of the round capsule they come in, from the MIS set.  I want to put them into my own capsules.  Can anyone tell me how to remove them without wrecking the coin?

TIA

Never use force....use a larger hammer.

Hi Lacey, have a look and see if you can see where they sealed it and gently prise it open or if you don't want the old capsule put it in a vice and very slowly tighten it up so sort of like cracking it like a nut, so as soon as you hear a crack STOP and look so you don't crush the capsule onto the coin, sorry I can't be of any more help mate.

Use a pocket knife blade in the crack. Prise it round to loosen and half should come away then you can tip the coin out without even touching it.

have you thought about putting it in the fridge/freezer?
the metal will shrink slightly whereas the plastic will not and it should loosen it up enough to fall out
