I won't be, I have too many new mob of roos to buy.
wait a bronze $10 coin?
not silver or gold but bronze and $100 to boot!
pass, I will pick them up in 5 year time for less
I hope they have reserved 100 of these to be given to recipients/families.
How big is it? What is on the obverse? A few details would be nice but I couldn't find any on the site!
The silver VC 1oz. looks better value at $70 but it doesn't have the names.
"COPPER ANTIQUE COIN", "antique finished". That is getting into the realm of the Franklin Mint or the Bradford Exchange -a worthy design idea with, what seems to me, a trashy execution.
I believe the names are on the packaging of the 1oz silver coin.

I asked for a scan of front and back and the size on the RAM Facebook page, and they responded. I can't post the link because I am on a Blackberry at Chicago O'Hare right now. Look for the question from me, John Adams. The size is 57mm.

I wasn't going to enter the ballot, as I don't collect NCLT, but I mentioned the coin at the dinner table last night and the wife reckons I should enter, as it might be a good investment. Yesss!
I'm in the ballot now.
Me too, even though NCLT's not my cup of tea.
It doesn't appear to warrant a customer number for entry so what's stopping Dad, Mum, all 6 kids, the cat and 4 budgies from entering?

Have all the 100 names been checked? Seems like the names are "official" names and not their real names; who ever knew of Sir Roden Cutler as Arthur Cutler?
He was Arthur Roden Cutler so possibly they have used they his first Christian name as he enlisted rather than his preferred Christian name.

Quote from: 'Coins from Vending' pid='47579' dateline='1398566457'Geez that fellow on the left looks like Ben Roberts who is a VC recipient just has a darker shade of hair?
I am pretty sure that the other 2 young blokes in the middle are VC recipients as well.
A lot of courage there:
Ben Roberts-Smith VC MG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Roberts-Smith
Keith Payne VC OAM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Payne
Daniel Keighran VC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Keighran
Mint employee Ross MacDiarmid
Mark Donaldson VC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Donaldson
Unk Mint employee
Roberts-Smith, Keighran and Donaldson are the 3 living recipients of the Victoria Cross for Australia. The other recipient Corporal Cameron Stewart Baird VC MG received his, I believe, posthumously.
I'm not sure if Keith Payne is the only other surviving recipient of the VC. He received his for action in the Vietnam war and comes from Ingham NQ.
I don't think these are the sort of people to seek attention by participating in the RAM promotion. The $100 cost is a lot more than previous releases so I hope that a portion of the profit will be going towards assisting returned servicemen and/or their families hence why the VC recipients were prepared to provide their time.
Those blokes most certainly have Coconuts in their undies .
I had a bit of a problem saluting some of the junior officers at Lavarack Barracks But I once saluted Keith Payne and it was an absolute honour Mate :good:

Successful entries in the Victoria Cross Coin Ballot
04 Jun 2014
Ballot winners will be informed from today about their opportunity to purchase one Victoria Cross Copper Antique Coin. If you were successful and nominated an email address, you will receive an email in your inbox informing you of the next steps. If you did not nominate an email address and were successful, you will be sent a letter in the mail. It may take a few more days for you to find out if you were successful.
For the next day or so, emails will be sent out to the successful entries. They are being sent out at intervals to ensure customers are able to access the eShop with ease. Once all of the successful applicants have been notified, we will email or send letters to those who were unsuccessful. The unsuccessful entries will go onto a waiting list.
Please be patient and wait to be notified about whether or not you were successful. The Contact Centre will not be able to advise customers if they phone with queries.
I got an email today saying I am successful. I have been given a code to use on the ram site eshop to make the actual purchase. My code is valid for 2 weeks only.

yep \they have wot is it? 5 thousand to email/post
It's done by software. Takes the same effort to send 1,000 and 5,000 emails, and even 5,000,000. Why make people wait? :(
so they do not have thousands of people trying to buy off their eshop all at the same time, they said earlier. this is off their page "They are being sent out at intervals to ensure customers are able to access the eShop with ease."
I see one on ebay now for $202.50 with 30 bids and still over 6 days to go on auction. :shok:
I entered ballot via RAM facebook with no address just my username.
Not too fussed if I got one ... take it or leave it
No email for me :beg: All good, and congrats to those who did. Just a thought though, and not being catty, I'm wondering if the ballot was actually open to all comers, or maybe there could have been a criteria where current members received preference. :diablo:

Flood control. A lot of outgoing mail servers have a flood limit which requires a delay between sending emails. That's assuming they have an automated system for sending emails. The other possibility is that it's the public service and they have some poor schmo sitting there sending out emails manually.
I'll go with the later Mark but bet they are pushing for automation so as to save the budget :winkextra:

Some folks don't even have there's yet and selling it on ebay, in there description, received email confirming, when I receive coin I will send, 3days left and at $390.
desperate times for many people, looking to make a dollar at every turn, and if ppl want to pay the premium let them, I am still laughing at the ppl who paid $250 for a bag of 20 2014 $1 Anzac coins, which are now selling for about $30 a bag.
I think that most people that "Won" this item/coin did it for financial and not collector reasons.
It is after all just a "Grannybait" coin that will loose its appeal after the initial rush has ended.

I did say this very tongue in cheek.
Markn and I took the kids on an outing on Saturday to the Art Gallery of South Australia. They currently have a display of war medals including one of the first VC's awarded to John Grieve (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Grieve_(VC))
The display was put out for a limited time and I'm very glad we got to see it.
If one gets to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, there they have a excellent display of VC's.
If the roof was lifted off the building and one looked down onto the display centre, the outline would be the same shape as that of the VC itself.
It is a place where one can spend many hours reading the citations of the recipients.
It well worth the visit.
I loved visiting Canberra War Memorial especially back in 2005 the RAM mobile press was there
My son and daughter lined up and got a momento G $1 coin
Always impressed with the exhibits at the Australian War Memorial. I hadn't been there for ages until 3 years ago and spent a lot of time looking at the aircraft on display.

I rec eived and email from the RAM today advising that "more than one entry was received from this email so you were not successful in the ballot> I am on a waitlist to see if someone doesn't want one that has been offered, or words to that effect".
Honestly, I don't ever remember applying for this coin nor sending in the application.
Quote from: 'runway' pid='52298' dateline='1402579494'One of the better Subscription coins
Why is that ?
Is it because it a far better produced offering than anything before . Or is it simply because it is commanding an outrageous value on eBay?
with a mintage of 5000 it isn't a rare item as far as NCLT coins go at all.
Compared to our first cu/nickel dollar coin this pales in comparison as far as a numismatic event in Australia as far as I am concerned.
I got the same email saying I missed out now I don't feel too bad because yesterday I got an email saying there is 13 million USD in a deceased account that some bank manager wants my help in getting out of the country, then I got an email saying I won 4 million in an online lottery that I don't remember entering.
As they say what you lose on the swings you pick up on the roundabout.
CfV: I get those emails all the time. If I continued with them, I would be a multi millionaire by now but then the costs involved woulf have sent me bankrupt.
I am not that stupid. (But that is my opinion. Others may think differently).

The Theme, nothing to do with your assesment
Of course it's the Theme.
Apart from the 2000 one Dollar mule, or any unstamped coins show dollars or 2005 proof dollar.
What is the highest priced one dollar coin?
2000 VC ?
Why?

Exactly Interest and that's why I wanted on for my collection :yahoo:
This IS a nicely designed "Grannybait" coin, But In all honesty I think the main interest with this coin issue is the resale value on eBay.
As a ballot coin I find it strange that the same seller has sold 4 of these so far when they were supposed to be 1 per person:dodgy:
As a theme goes the Anzac ,Victoria Cross and other War related coin issues are getting pretty much flogged to death over the last few years.
It is getting to the stage where I see a new issue coin that is yet again war related and it becomes a "Ho Hum" event for me.
Coin arrived this morning. Shocking packaging, the 'coin' is loose in the box, not restrained in any way. :ireful:
I got mine today. Plenty of tissue paper holding mine in there. I haven't actually opened the coin box yet.

Tissue Paper :dodgy:
What did they have to raid the dunny paper from the Mint loo's to pack these?
No wonder we have ongoing "Concerns" regarding the Q&A at the mint these days :dodgy:
they have always sent boxed items in a box with scrunched tissue paper
yep - got mine - the large beautiful coin was banging around when I picked up the box ... sad face ... dum dum mint packers
but the coin appears to be able to be pushed in quite firmly, so I suppose that they thought it's stay put
so much for testing hypothesis
I'd be still cranky you had to pay $12 post Robbie when you could easily have picked it up.
disclaimer: I am having a Kath-is-cranky day anyway
actually I never asked
but in previous 'ballots' have had to have the item posted (I think)

When crafting the copper antique A History of the Victoria Cross coin, we wanted to create a coin which would allow customers to have a more tactile experience with it, in a similar way that the Victoria Cross medal itself can be touched and held. As such, we produced the coin through a process normally used to create medals and medallions, rather than collectable coins. The size and finish of the coin similarly reflect that of a medallion. Unlike an uncirculated or proof coin, the copper antique finished coin is unlikely to be overly affected by occasional handling, as a level of handling is necessary in the creation of this coin. We do however recommend you take care of the copper antique A History of the Victoria Cross coin as you would any coin in your collection, but the occasional, light-handed interaction with the coin is not going to impact the finish adversely.
It does look pretty damn cool.

AWSOME
Finally an idiot proof coin, No wonder people are paying crazy prices for it
Don't complain guys. Profit like this may get many more people into coin collecting.
Win win for all of us
The Royal Australia Mint ballot coin should be called the eBay coin.
I can see certain sellers having more than one
I received mine today. Coin was loose in the case. Is the case OK to keep the coin in, long term or should we be putting them into airtite capsules. Do they make capsules in 57mm?
Mine is loose too, nice coin. I was looking at the box hoping for certificate number 100 but it wasn't to be.

So close! As there are 100 recipients and 100 names on the coin, certificate number 100 would BE THE one to have!
Mine is #2244.
I missed out on the ballot but I had some good news today, I was offered a second round chance and bought it right away. Woohoo

These are coins that were not taken up by the first round ballot winners, all coins were placed in another second round ballot only for people who did not win first round ballot.

Not all successful ballot winners took up their offer, so some left over for others who missed out.
It looks like the initial "Panic" has ended on eBay.
These were selling for 700/800 now there is one listed at $455 with no bids.
$100 is still way too much to pay for this coin I reckon ... subscription coins always have most listed on greedbay and that sux for true collectors who missed out.
Sharks
My coin arrived and it wasnt too bad really. Not somthing that I normally collect but I think I got caught up in the hype so will put it away for the kids. I got number 4558.
One thing I did notice is that it wasnt loose in the box like many others have said but still secure in its container. Overall a nice coin.

I wouldn't give that site the satisfaction of the business to profit from this. It was too hard to get. I think Ill keep it, who knows, it may kick off something larger for the collection.......
If anything, I would gift it to a serious collector like my father if it ever became a bother..

I don't get that one PP
it's not a coin error - it seems to have been a sending error - i.e. the mint sent two not one, but with 2 different certificates & not even posted in the same parcel by the look of it?
so the error is his dishonestly in not returning the second one that wasn't paid for?
or his BS in ordering two and making out that an extra one was sent in error
goodness knows
too early in the day - it's doing my head in!! ha ha
This one is on my banned bidders list and has been for sometime now :ok:
Perhaps they could have used the picture of the Budgie again? (Or maybe updated it to a Galah).
$10,000 for sending 2 to same address, what a #$%^&*()
has anyone thought to ask the RAM to comment on this sale to find out wether or not it is a genuine mistake of not?
Quote from: 'Goldseeker' pid='56211' dateline='1407230944'has anyone thought to ask the RAM to comment on this sale to find out wether or not it is a genuine mistake of not?
I would think that RAM would be quite interested to find out that they double supplied a coin that would only have been paid for once.
I did notice however in the initial "Selling Frenzy" that some sellers DID have multiples of these coins that were only supposed to be one per person :dodgy:
I agree with you there trout but the invoices would have been in different names (we hope).
I have just sent the RAM the very questions how and was the second paid for, further is it bullony of true.
I shall post any response I get.
I am very annoyed I did not get a coin and others got two... I was looking forward to getting one of these coins... I suppose I can get one at a very inflated price from eBay ....
yes I copied the info of the order, if I get time maybe just maybe I will contact the mint, tho they don't care from last time I called, so I told them I wont be doing advertising for them, sigh why should I do there job for them, I don't get anything out of it, you would think they would try and be nice to me
tho I do some info pages to keep people up to date and try to make sense out of stuff

I personally think the silver coin is nicer and didn't bother with this one.
What does annoy me is that the eBay Shysters always seem to get this type of issue (In numbers) and the true collectors Miss out.
I did a bit of research a few weeks ago and one seller sold at least 5 of these.
So much for the Ballot being fair and honest :dash1:
now if you put something online, I can copy it, so can everyone, beware I can show everyone! especially when you write mean and naughty things in your reply haha

"its a ram mint error regardless if its at an admin level"
does that mean that I can print off an email I received with a typo from RAM and claim that as a mint error?
I am quite frankly amazed that anyone in their right mind would pay the issue price for this coin , let alone the ridicules prices on eBay.
Time will tell But I doubt that these will become one of the "Must have" coins in the future and these will fade away into the background like many other "Grannybait" offerings from RAM

Question & Answer Answered On ....
Q: Hi, That isn't a coin error. It's a lucky RAM error on your part, that you were sent . Two VC Coins instead of one. Obviously a glich in their Computer system .That instead of not one lucky Ballot Winner you got two. Have you thought of returning it. So one of us that entered could get a chance . The only glaring error is , You won two instead of one. Isn't it a bit rich. $10,000 for two coins? Regards Cherie 04-Aug-14
A: Sorry but when some one like you ask 5k for a $1 "mule" is justified only because you own it, AND HAVE IT READY TO SELL, (have you ever thought of returning such coins) With all respect please spare me and fly'off, if you can't afford it bad luck guess what "BAD LUCK"... It's an ram mint error regardless if it's at an admin level. Please Don't see my listings, if you find my listings offensive in any way Sincere regards
Q: Hi just wondering what the error is and why the price is so high thanks 03-Aug-14
A: Apparently Royal mint or it's officials has commit a Booboo, via issuing this VC 2014 $10 coin twice to me, it was only supposed to be issued one for one individual only and via some random ram ballet system, as you may find the customer number is same on both the invoices, which confirms, Ram ballet system/officials failed to upkeep with the statement, made by RAM. I am firm you will not find any examples of such kind... Hoping I have explained thoroughly but please don't hesitate to contact me in future regards Ash.
I do agree that some grass roots collectors missed out, and certainly not that others were able to secure multiple issues, but I also don't believe this seller is an idiot, and certainly is no fool. They have attracted plenty of interest going by the three offers and number of watchers so far, and who's to say what interest this errant action by the Mint as evidenced by the alleged invoice stuff up may attract 50 years down the track. No different to many bazar items now selling for big dollars at auction. IMHO the only party at fault here is the RAM for being so amateurish in the control and monitoring of the whole process. Hell, I'm sounding like the seller, no no no not me!!
I beg to differ trout. If an item increases in value and someone sells it for a profit that is fine with me. It dosnt matter if it is a penny bought by grandma in 1930 during a tour of the mint or a coin bought today via ballot
If there is more demand than supply it is natural for there to be an upward price movement on the item and and it is typically Australian to have a tall poppy attitude about people profiteering from a wise or lucky investment
If we held your standard to all numismatic items then I would have no right to ask more than the issue price for the 34/35 florin I recently got graded or I would be profiteering by your standard. I am not selling that coin for 30c would you?
I think a more healthy attitude to take is to say "gee I wish I had bought in on that issue" and move on.
I know I wish I had bought a 2000 VC cross $1 coin when they issued them, but I didn't so, I have to pay what it is worth today if I want one
I certainly dont fault the people who bought lots of them. I saw 1 ebay sale for a box of 10! Gee i wish i had done that!
BIN price has been jacked up to $25,000. Seller must think with 8 'watchers' he might as well go for broke.

I am not saying that ALL coins are only worth the issue value at all.
I AM concerned that this particular Coin was marketed as a one per person (If lucky enough to win the ballot) coin and many sellers have sold multiples of these.
I feel sorry for the collectors that wanted one of these and are being forced to pay ridicules prices because quite a few people "Rorted" the ballot purely for profit.
I have NO problem with people hoarding coins Because in the long run there will be plenty of high quality coins available, The Canberra florin is a great example of this .
I don't care what other people pay for a coin, I will only pay what I think the coin is worth and ignore the "Hype" that accompanies them :ok:
Having said that I am guilty of paying exorbitant prices for some of the 25mm $1 I need to complete my collection and I am GOOD with that because the coins I needed WERE very low mintage and hard to get.
I think a lot of people got shocked at how much they went up in value and people who may not have sold theirs did so because of the profit that was to be had. hence why the price went down so quick after it peaked, a sudden oversupply. however it seems to be stabilising now that supply is reducing. Yes there was a few people who "professionally" smashed the ballot and got several items but they are not as common as you think, they are simply more visible.
on the subject of high grade Canberra florins I don't think they are as common as you say as, whilst they got hoarded, they also got poorly stored and commonly cleaned. so it is easy to get one that is uncirculated but they are usually problem coins that are upgradable. I am buying as many MS graded 27's as possible as I don't think the MS population will increase that much due to the aforementioned issues.

HeHeHe
I have been doing that for quite some time now
Interestingly the low end MS and AU 55-58 coins form the favourite part of my collection of these.
Here is the RAM'sesponse to my email re the double issue to one person:
Good afternoon Mr xxxxxxxx,
The Royal Australian Mint is restricted under privacy legislation from providing details regarding specific customers and their orders. We are also unable to control what claims people may make on the secondary market, for instance eBay. If you believe the 'error' term is misleading, we suggest you contact eBay.
As the seller of this particular item is forthcoming with information, we suggest perhaps request that the customer provides the original 'offer to purchase' emails which were sent, which along with a unique code also included the name of the successful ballot entrant. In addition to the two individual receipts already provided.

Getting the TRUTH from RAM is akin to trying to squeeze Blood from a stone.
Good try though Goldie, Appreciated Mate :good:
come on guys
be fair for God's sake
"privacy legislation from providing details regarding specific customers and their orders." that legislation is very real for government
"We are also unable to control what claims people may make on the secondary market, for instance eBay"
Duck shoving again or just not wanting to provide a suitable answer? This response would have very likely been run by the government solicitor before being sent
the RAM doesn't have to be explaining to an e-mail as to why some dork on ebay has his listing set up the way he has it - lies or not and going by the price I lean towards the former, nor do they have to be explaining willy nilly if there was a double posting glitch - no sales system is with out fault - that is the stuff that quality control works out and it takes time to sort those things out
sometimes I find the RAM criticisms very narrow minded and ridiculously unfair
the very business that you all on one hand, revere, seems to be spoken about as if they are all just a bunch of idiots with poor appreciation shown for of all of the work that goes on before today and after today and as well that they have to be reporting to the public as if the public were their boss, well guys most government businesses now are very self sufficient and the government is the face but not as much the funder, I assure you, so forget the public servant mentality - I suppose that for myself, being a Canberra public servant now (and a Queensland one before that) I am a bit sensitive to that attitude
it just seems to be so contradictory to me

yeah but it more to the point that they could note this person and not give them anything in future ballots
Quotesometimes I find the RAM criticisms very narrow minded and ridiculously unfair
WHY?
We still own this Mint (So Far as I am aware) and to send 2 of these coins to the same customer on a Ballot system is totally Unacceptable.
Just because they are "Government Employees" doesn't make them immune from criticism, On the contrary I DO believe these lazy buggers need a good kick in the bum every now and then to stop the "Complacency" they have developed over the last few years.
jeezuz trout
do you really believe the lies of that ebay seller????
gosh mate
I have always given you more credit
how on earth could a
'duplicate' item be sent in a separate mail out
6 weeks LATER with a different mailing order number ? if it really were a duplicate then the order would only have the
one number THERE IS SIX WEEKS BETWEEN THE ITEMS BEING POSTED who is to say that he wasn't redrawn in the second round ballot?
what is to say that he is also a shoddy liar?
you have to pay before they post and then 6 weeks later to send a 'duplicate' is a tad far fetched
or have I come down in the last shower?
and by the way government workers aren't complacent and lazy - speaking for myself with 23 years of proud service and now at my age, doing two jobs for the price of one due to 'attrition' management. The complacency sets in when moral is at
zero and SOME of the public treat us like shit cause they have to kick someone in guts to make their day a better one .. such is life when you have family responsibilities
I am not the best with financial reports but page 357 indicates a self funding organisation - so I will probably be corrected
yes 'we' the Australian people own the mint but the Mint pays it's own way - not the taxpayer and there is a difference

Quote from: 'Australian coin' pid='56288' dateline='1407323403'yeah but it more to the point that they could note this person and not give them anything in future ballots
maybe true but AC the RAM can't discriminate against customers on the basis they
might list an item on ebay in a manner which might be seen as unconscionable - that sort of stuff could end up in the courts if the customer was vexatious enough and I assure you - they are out there

:agreed:
I also don't doubt that if a concern is brought to the RAM's attention then even if they can't comment publicly they do take it on board and consider it internally. Public concerns are probably discussed weekly at a management meeting and the relevant manager explains what they did about it.
Slightly off topic re my FOI application. The RAM manager was having trouble providing the material within the 30 day timeframe so I unilaterally agreed to an extension of 30 days. They were so busy with EOFY stuff that was one really grateful manager.
been thinking more about this (besides being defensive about being a public servant!!)
and I reckon the answer is bedded in the last sentence in your reply and remembering as well, that simple invoice paperwork (which wasn't photographed) can be copied & doctored so easily these days
I don't believe that the mint has fobbed off anyone, I reckon they have been cautious in the response
As the seller of this particular item is forthcoming with information, we suggest perhaps request that the customer provides the original 'offer to purchase' emails which were sent, which along with a unique code also included the name of the successful ballot entrant. In addition to the two individual receipts already provided.
The seller's use of 'error' in his sale pitch is clever but misleading at best, however he has certainly ruffled some feathers and raised the profile of the items.!
I think common sense will prevail, just another Ebay shark trying his luck.!
Possibly highlights the true problem, limited number ballot items from the RAM. IMO there will always be a small percentage of winners who will 'turn' the item over for a profit.! As always the consumer can choose to participate on not. :dodgy:
Quote from: 'Robster' pid='56310' dateline='1407365980'The seller's use of 'error' in his sale pitch is clever but misleading at best, however he has certainly ruffled some feathers and raised the profile of the items.!

Aggree. The only thing I would add is when a condition of participation is stated by any organisation, in this case one item per customer, most people including myself tend to take this literally. It's probably a result of being brought up to not expect any advantage over and above the next person. Sadly, there will always be a minority of those who seek to operate outside this unwritten law, while the rest of us put our trust in the ruling body to ensure compliance. Of course, when things don't go as set out, there will be cries of foul, and justifyably so. In this case, was every reasonable avenue taken to ensure maximum compliance? Maybe it was, maybe could have been done better. Other than cross referencing names, addresses, email and phone contacts, and credit cards etc, and then gonging out any duplications, I don't know what more could be done. Thinking about it, by limiting one item to any one address or phone number for example, the restriction may need re defining to one item per family. Do I hear cries of my favorite word, draconian? Well that's how it worked in the olden days:diablo::grin:

They probably took the best precautions they could within the realms of common sense. No matter what systems they come up with those looking to make quick $$ will always find a way to game the system to their advantage. Personally I think a couple of posters here are making a storm in a teacup over a shady eBay seller who will NEVER EVER get the money he's asking.
As to "us owning the RAM" and them having to bend over backwards for our every request....hahahaha. hahaha. hahahaha. That's why we have FOI. If YOU don't like the answer they give you then YOU follow the procedures put in place and you will get your answer. Shooting off emails is unlikely to get you anything unless you catch the right person in the right mood. Griping about it on this forum just makes you sound whiny.
When I posted up the link I should have commented further. I saw past the ridiculous price from a probably dodgy seller (was that the same guy selling shed job ex roll coins on eBay as errors and may also have been feeding to IAG auctions -off topic, yes another story). My point really was same customer number, 2 coins which should not have happened in a fair process. I'm sure now the RAM knows they will look into (internally) at why the fair process failed and see it not happen again.
Mark just threw a story at me. What if......
Ballot coin is won, ballot coin is paid for, ballot coin is sent. Customer pulls some sort of post office swifty or isn't asked to sign for his delivery, claims not received, the RAM does the right thing after complaint and sends another hoping for happy customer. In this case RAM did the right thing, customer is dodgy -is the customer always right? Remember there are always 2 sides to a story and what's perceived is not always the case.
Discaimer: I have no idea what's really happened.

Sounds like quite a plausible explanation given the same customer Number is on both invoices/recepts.
I have actually had dealings with this seller and he is on by banned list for his dishonesty :ok:
:laugh2:
Just to change the focus of the thread for a tick ....... hilarious .....

Have a look at the completed listings for this seller.
Make that 14 of these sold by this seller so far :dash1:
That makes at least 13 other collectors that missed out on this just because some scammy bugger has worked out how to "Rort" the system.:dodgy:

Bring back the BIFF
No matter what the mint does there will always be the sneaky buggers that will circumvent anything put in place to make sure that everyone gets a fair go.
NOT the mints fault at all, The greedy will always find a way to "Sneak under the Carpet" regardless :ok:

You think they could have bought them from someone else. And now they are trying to flip it again for a nice profit? If that's the case then nothing RAM can do.
I secured number 3382 at the Melbourne ANDA today. Yippee.
Plus a Swan Dollar.

Quote from: 'Nevol' pid='56230' dateline='1407272676'BIN price has been jacked up to $25,000. Seller must think with 8 'watchers' he might as well go for broke.
Just noticed that the seller has relisted it.... for $29,000.

It's surely a gee up,not real
I contacted the RAM re this one and also spoke with the RAM Staff at the recent ANDA Show and they all said that it could have been a mix up in that a single entry was entered a second time.
All comes down to Human Errors.
Don't forget he had more sets than these listed on greedBay at the time
Now here's a rumour that I have just had confirmed by the Australian War memorial Shop a few minutes ago.
The AWM Shop received a quantity of these coins, (estimated/believed to be 100) from the RAM for sale at the AWM at $100.00 each.
Did anyone else know about this?
The AWM have since sold out of the this coin.
I personally shall be writing a letter to the CEO of the RAM asking questions re this issue.

The whole issue of this coin is surrounded in a bad smell IMHO.
In reality it is simply just another piece of "Grannybait" churned out by RAM to take advantage of collectors.
Far too many Sahanagins and dodgy dealings are associated with it :dodgy:
