Title: Frustrated with ebay??.....support Quicksales
Post by: dreamcatcher on April 13, 2014, 04:24:51 PM
Hi guys. I've read plenty of complaining about ebay lately. I think this is completely justified with the constantly increasing fees for sellers. As you probably know ebay are now adding postage to the final listing fee. Fees are significantly above 10%, including paypal fees.

The reality is that while ebay has the widest range for buyers, that's where they will keep going.

As a frustrated ebay seller I have decided to list my items on Quicksales.com.au as well. It's easy to use and has NO FEES!!

I recommend you give it a go if you haven't already. If we all start listing our items there, at least as well as e@#y, we will increase the range of items available and hopefully attract more buyers to the site.

Perhaps eventually we can all migrate there!?

And live in fee free paradise :P.

I've bought some coins off Quicksales lately, but I find it's not an easy site to navigate.  I guess if I use it more often, I might learn but I tend to forget things within minutes.  :scratch_one-s_head:

I tried Oztion in the early days and was most unimpressed. Has it improved since?

Given that its now owned by Carsales, I'd say so. Of course any site is only as good as its users, and aussie sellers tend towards one end of the spectrum, so I wouldn't expect any miracles.

NO - Totally disagree
since carsales bought it , it has been a nightmare to navigate

ps - why are there no seller fees? that doesn't make sense

dreamcatcher - there has been a seller by that same name on quicksales for many years

my winge about ebay .

number one ,  I own a $ 20.00 note, I list it on ebay
 it sells for $ 21.00  , so I make $ 1.00 profit on it .

why then should I have to pay fees on $ 21.00 ?
  the first $ 20.00 is mine .
I should only pay fees on my profit of $ 1.00 , which is 10 cents .not $ 2.10 .

number two , the winner pays by paypal , min fees of .30 cents
so I pay fees of 37 cents to paypal .

it is easier for me to just spend the $ 20.00 at the club or shop ..

                                       ,, kel ,,

Only rumours & scuttlebutt from a Customs Agent i know but Alibaba is apparently looking to go global with an Ebay type operation, listing on the NY SE is only the first step, time will tell but they will surely rattle Ebay's cage.

As a buyer there is simply more items listed on ebay... something potential sellers should note despite fees
I'm no fan of gumtree now that is dodge city in my opinion worst ever for honesty

Hi Runway. Yes there are many more items listed on ebay but if sellers started to list on quicksales then there would be a similar selection!

I have bought two things from quicksales, but there is not much on there compared to flee bay, I haven't tried selling on quicksales yet but I think I would give it a try, ebay has all my stuff set up so I don't have to do much work on listing items, but I dislike the piss farting around with the pricing and payment system and fees, next month I will be looking into quicksales

Yes Australian coin. I recommend it. You can actually sell for less say and still make more profit! I'm listing my items at around 5-10% less on Quicksales hoping they'll sell faster, and I still end up with around the same return. As a seller you also get a good weekly summary email. We just need more sellers there to attract the buyers and I think we'll all be much better off.

The coins and notes are under the category antiques, art and collectables.

did you open both photos in the listing?
I can get picture number 1 but for most - picture number two just locks up the listing ( I am looking at BJM coins as I use to by from him for many years on oztion & ebay)
and I wall add that I am no stranger to quicksales
I just got really frustrated with the changes when carsales bought them out and have never been happy buying or selling since
so I don't

going a bit faster now ....

ooops
must of jinxed myself!! ha ha

Robbie, there is a problem on Quicksales with pictures. I listed some coins recently but when I looked at the listing I could only see 1 photo, not 2. Turns out it is related to the program you use to access the internet. I use Firefox. Internet Explorer should be OK.

having a looksee at the seller section of quicksales, and did a play to see if I could list something as a mock up, sigh they want to send a verification code for each listing to a mobile or a landline, pain in the butt

heres is the listing choices when you finally get it to come up

the next page has a cute shortcut tab that is better to find the proper category instead of a suggested one

http://www.quicksales.com.au/ad/australia-1972-five-cent-5c-echidna-coin/itemid-20148315

hey not so bad to negotiate, put the biggest pics up I could, will do a bit better next time now I know what the sizing is like
page is loading a bit slow at my end, and I must have skipped the postage tab somewhere, but ill catch that next time

Australian coin. The verification code is only for your first listing. Once your verified your good to go!

Wish I could sell stuff on line or find someone I can trust to do it but then have to sell a lot to cover what you loose from the DSP and I looked into this about trading assistant but a lot want too much to sell. It's a shame really as I have some ok coins that I think would sell pretty quick like my upset 2001 20 cent and a few others but I'll end up putting them back in the pond the way things are going. I have found the net to be a very strange place at times and still can't quite work out who I can and can't trust or how to pick the ones I can trust as I'm like Uni and find it very hard to drop your guard and even more so after your missin a chunk of brain makes you worry about a lot of things you wouldn't have worried about before :( I'll have to suss this quicksales to see if they have trading assistants as well.
