Title: 2014 UK SS Gairsoppa 1/4oz Silver 50p

These coins are minted from silver recovered from the wreck of the SS Gairsoppa which was torpedoed in 1941 with only one survivor making it ashore.

While a little steep at £30 (and likely to cost $50 by the time you get them here), the design is good, the packaging informative, and they come with DVD's of the TV documentary series about the ship.

A cut above the usual NCLT offerings, methinks. ;)

Given the provenance of the metal those are very tempting.
