Let's make use of the tool Markn built to track new coin finds. We seem to have ironed out all the bugs so it's time to get serious with it to track new 2014 coins as they are found and other coins as we add them. Contact myself or Markn if there are any problems or you think something should be added.

Record a find can't determine my location but, never mind, I then selected it on the map and entered my last find.
Shows up on the finds map, correct location but says
"Coin: 2010 50 Cent - Upset
Found By: JeffH
Found On: 07/09/2015"
However Date entered was 17/02/2014

Looks like there was a problem with single digit days and months. Go javascript. It appears to be working OK now.
Can you please have a fiddle and let me know if there's any problems.

One of my previous finds had disappeared but I went and entered it just now and it showed up correctly.
I think MarkN ended up with that coin. The sneaky bugger probably deleted it so he could claim the find! -just kidding.

Eventually I managed to move the location to where I lived in Perth at the time, selected the date of 7th May 2004 and then found there was no menu item for 2000 $1 10c mule.

Which ones Fulvio? I cleared out everything that looked obviously fake. Perhaps yours looked more convincing.

I've just spent 30 minutes fiddling with the script. It now detects a forum cookie that contains some information that allows me to retrieve your forum username and prepopulate that field. I guess that I should stop anyone who isn't logged into the forum from recording a find? Your thoughts?

I thought so too. So I did it. Manually log out of the forum (by clicking the Log Out link just under the forum banner) and view the finds recorder page.

I saved the link to the recorder page, then logged out of the forum. I then loaded up the recorder page and entered a new find. The page said it was saved, so I logged back into the forum and went to the view finds and the find I just recorded was not logged. (Which is what I think should occur ...... ie: you can't record a find unless you're logged in).
Is that what you wanted checked ..... or have I lost the plot ..... again.
I tested it. If you log out of the forum you can enter data but the button to 'save find' is missing. It also tells you to join our forum!
All is good ...... my page was loading from the cache. Refreshed the page after logging out and got the proper result ..... join the forum etc.

Goodo. I've had some more ideas on the school run. Now that we'll have proper forum id's associated with the records I should be able to allow people to edit their own finds. I'll work on it a bit tonight and see how it comes together.

OK, that's already on the "list" but I think editing records and deleting them is the first thing I'd like to get knocked off. Adding coins to the list isn't quite so easy right now because it's just a hard coded list and not "databased".

Good finds,the $50 bags are popular on Ebay.
Just looked up the bags on e-bay, those prices are nuts. Mine cost me $50 face value. Today I scored 15 x $2 "Indigenous Military Service" loose and another bag. I've been very lucky so if anyone wants a coin for face plus postage, PM me.

Hadn't looked that closely at the coin motifs until you mentioned it. It's a stylised I with a border around it that makes it look like an "O".
Great haul by the way, especially the coronation $2!

Just when I was about to give up on scoring any more coloured coins in circulation...... bingo my luck changed and tonight I had a great collecting run at Woolies.
I caught 7 x 2019 $2 "100 years of Repatriation" loose coins and an unopened bag of 25 x $2 2019 "100 years of Repatriation" (not a RAM bag though) and 1 x 2020 Australian Olympic Team "Dedication "coin. Then to another Woolies on the way home and scored a shiny 1 x 2019 "MoR" and 4 x 2020 "Donation Dollars". Not a bad nights shopping and collecting at all. :yahoo:

I have noticed it is getting harder to collect coloured $2 coins from circulation. It's still worth doing even though the results are diminishing as time goes by.
Yesterday I scored 2 x GACH #3 coins. 1 x 2022 $1 "D for Darrell Lee"; 1 x $1 2022 "I for Irukandji Jellyfish" and 4 coloured $2 coins, 1 x 2018 "21st Commonwealth Games"; 1 x 2020 "Australian Olympic Team" "Courage"; 1 x 2019 "Police Remembrance"(yeah) and 1 x 2019 "Mr Squiggle" coin.

Speculators are mostly hoarding and releasing them in bags or rolls or individually on eBag at inflated prices. Probably why we aren't seeing the bees even though there should be heaps of them.
I rarely find any at the best of times.
I was given a 2018 $2 Invictus Games sometime in the last week. No bees yet.

Collected 16 x "2022 Commonwealth Games Team S"; 2 x "Commonwealth Games Team A"; 3 x 2022 "Socceroos"; a RAM mint unopened bag of 20 x $1 2021 "Mob of Roos" coins, 2 x "2020 Donation Dollar"; 1 x $2 "2020 Australian Olympic Team Dedication"; 1 x "2021 Ambulance Service"; 1 x 2022 "75th Anniversary of Peacekeeping" coins.

oooh, try to get more bags. Saw a RAM coin swap 2021 MoR bag sell on eBag for around $500 just the other day. And a security roll for about the same.
The RAM bag was a one off. The lovely lady at the Post Office put it aside for me. She said a guy bought it in and cashed for notes.
I kinda feel guilty now as I got it for face.
Now you have a conundrum. Do you sell it on the basis that you'll get nearly 500 dollars for it and hope more appear out of the wood work. One guy on eBay had a jumbo bag he bought from a dealer.
Or do you hold it on the basis that there are no more to be had?
