Title: sellin coins
Post by: ausjack on February 15, 2014, 02:47:30 PM
:dodgy: don't know if this is in the right spot sorry as I'd like to know if it's worth me taking the time to take pic's and list a few, mainly error coins. So if anyone is interested please let me know and I can put up some pic's :ok: I have planched and rim cuds, a few rabbit ears and so on but have way to many to put up if no one is interested, so please feel free to post here or message me, cheers :)

I suppose I can slowly build on here so here's a scan of a 72 10 cent planchet down the queens face

I'm always interested, depending on price. Basically, I'll take anything at face value... as the price increases, the interest decreases proportionately, so its gotta be pretty good to get top dollar out of me. ;)

Haha I don't want top dollar, just want to get rid of a heap of coins instead of going back to the pond as I have about $500 to go back so far and still have the 50 cents to sort yet :( It's all bloddy AC's fault :P No rush Fulvio, I'll get some more scans up over the next few days when I get time :)

He's a pensioner with an expensive habit to support.

If I was doing this to make money, I'd have no problem paying a grand for something and flipping it for two grand a week later. Or buying up 1930 pennies or whatever, as investments.

But I'm not. I sell almost nothing, and any premium I pay is basically dead money when I kick the bucket and it all goes to the bank.

Yes, I buy expensive stuff. But very very carefully. Most of what I don't find in circulation comes in somewhere between face and double face value.

:laugh2: Yeah I know mate, but just ask AC I have WAY too many coins here so need to get rid of some that she didn't want but that's all good as she puts stuff on ebay for me so I don't want her to end up with a heap of shit she can't sell and gets charged for so trying to do the right thing and look after her and a few other members at the same time..I wanna be good :D

Shit, the way things are I think I'd be happy with double face, as Fulvio said it's bloody hard on DSP so need every little break we can get :winkextra: and I really don't mind helpin people out as so many here have helped me greatly :hi:

yeah I put one thing up for you, and keeping an eye on prices so when I list more of your stuff you get the best price, but yeah still sorting thru threepences, I have coins that need to be put in 2x2, but everything takes time, wondering if  should send a blobby away to be graded, its got a line on it but the rest is very nice, probably a mint roll coin, and I want to get my brick put in a slab too, oooooo troutie.... I will bug him

OK, so lets see of we can work something out that will help you out.

What if I put in a blanket offer, say face+10%+postage, for absolutely anything that isn't a reject? On top of that, I'll offer more on specific items that I don't already have a truckload of. And of course other offers come first, be it forum members, or AC's ebay efforts or whatever. AC is only a couple hours drive from me, much closer than you mate, and I'm sure we could catch up to coordinate things for the best outcome for you.

As I see it, this should give you the best of all worlds.. clear the stash and give you cash to buy stuff you want, not require loads of effort, and maximise returns on anything really worthwhile. Oh, and save goodies from disappearing forever into the dreaded pond. ;)

some things that AJ has is still quite good, I just couldn't take it all back with me, he has errrr a but load of federation 20c, that I just couldn't take with me, I just took the coins too fill in sets as I get more $ for a set than for a individual coin, haha yeah I took all the SA 50c, so take that :P
he has double bars and bubbles, and stuff that I just cant move, I have tried on ebay.
I said I wasn't even going to look at his lamination coins or cuds, its just not worth it for me, didn't even hit the $1 don't know enough to look for dates and errors.
but I did make him put away 3 goooooooooooooooood coins, I labelled them for him so he wouldn't lose them

Y'know, I've never found a 5ยข rim cud. But then I don't noodle that many...

Last one is die cleaning scratches, reasonably common. But #3 has me stumped. Its too big for a cleaning scratch, and it doesn't go all the way to the body on either side anyway. :scratch_one-s_head:

Verrry nice. Now THAT I'd get into a bidding war over! ;)

Oh, and welcome to the wavy 2 club, AJ. That's the pick of the litter so far. :)

the only part of the 10c coin to have reeding is the little bit in the pic, and there is some extra stuff coming up the side of the coin too
