Besides the blob before the VI on the obverse (http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=114818&whichpage=2), are there any other die markers to look for on 1942 missing I pennies?
That link above does not work properly:

Here is my coin, not high grade (VF?) and a nasty scratch in the field before the king:

i collect them and was not even aware of die markers
as i always thought that the die marker - was no mint mark !!

Me too. Are we saying the die marker before VI indicates a genuine missing "I" coin, as opposed to one with die fill?
The die marker dot between SV is handy evidence that the no I is all the product of a single die

Thanks Neal :good:
is it possible then to assume - no dot + no I = possible non genuine no I ?
i have a couple of no I's that i have pulled out of lots or even bought and they just didn't sit right with me
now I have gone over them and there isn't the small elongated dot between the S & V either

Probably a weak I or the results of circulation. Sometimes the dot SV might have also gone walkabout due to circulation. There are a couple of other markers (very minor) but I have not done much with my '42s for a few years so I cannot recall what they are.

Well done great variety penny
Thank you very much, thank you very much.
Interesting coin, doesn't have the normal die chip mark but has a foreign chip/piece of metal underneath. Not sure whats going on under the bust, looks like the outline of the reverse of some feint letters

Edit..looks like a small I but its in the wrong position to the Normal I,also looks like other letters there but very hard to ID.
There's a small lam under that little flap of metal on the Obv.
