Last one I had with a similar type of scam was a few days ago. From the Australian Government no less -mistake with my tax meant I am owed $5,200 and he is here to organise it to be paid to me. Surprise, surprise; heavy Indian accent.
Surprise, surprise (for him -but I expect they are used to that); I said he was talking bullshit and hung up.

My dad would try to convert them. He'd tell them they were dishonest liars, working for criminals who should be ashamed of themselves and they should quit and go out and get an honest job.
I have a similar amount of patience with them as you Jeff, usually just a blast of "not interested" and down with the receiver.

Just tell them you work for the telephone fraud team of the federal police and that the call has been traced.

If its an aussie, I generally listen then politely tell them no thanks. Once or twice I have even bought something.
But if its an offshore annoyance factory, I ask them to wait a moment while I get a pen... and when I come back say an hour later, they tend to not be there anymore. :angel:
My brother in law loves these people as he tries to convert them to become a Jahovahs Witness.
He tried to do the same to me but was told in no uncertain times where to get off.......
