Not really after any 2x2's but might be interested in getting some more 1½x1½'s.

I got a bulk lot of them some time back and noticed that I've been using them very quickly lately, especially for my tiny coin and Bird Collections.

Not 100% certain, but I don't think the 2x2's from the US have the little tab  on the top.

OK.  Steve has an idea about a bulk purchase.  If you don't want to participate then don't post.  Start a new thread if you insist on de-railing this one.

Thank you Mark.

I will be ordering from Air-tite, and they do have 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 as well,
but they do not have the tabs on top.

How about supporting local dealers rather than Aussie money overseas.

How much can you sell them to me for, Shane?

I'm also after staple 2x2s and you don't list them on your website.

Not wishing to derail/hijack the thread, but this needs an answer.

Because Lighthouse sell self-adhesive 2x2's for US19¢ retail. Discounters are obviously cheaper. Aussie coin dealers sell the exact same item for 30¢ all the way up to 52¢. That's ridiculous and doesn't deserve our support.

It is not the retail price that is the problem. It is our wholesale price that causes the problem. Obviously you can't sell at a loss but the problem is I can't buy direct from the manufacturer like you can in Europe and the USA so I have to rely on an Australian middleman to import and sell to me. If I buy from a USA dealer by the time I add shipping, gst and a fair margin I am "too dear". I guess the buyer has to weigh up short term cost to them getting a cheap item overseas or the long term loss of not ever being able to walk into a coin shop in Australia and getting a personalized service me and other Aussie dealers offer.

Will do a quote for you on Monday Steve.

hey guys
let's get back to the actual order and further discussions about the pros and cons of having a local coin shop and the relativities of retail pricing being another thread?

after all - most of us here sell on ebay - and we don't necessarily source all of our small stocks from dealers coin shops

Thanks Nancy.
I'll keep a running total in the first post.
Not sure of price 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 yet, but
will let you know. I have come across another
seller in the U.S. selling 100 2x2's at $1.75
so have sent them an e-mail. Waiting for reply.

Will also see what Shane comes up with.

Can you get some prices for self adhesive flips ?
I could do with a few hundred of these :)

the postage is the killer - I reckon that you will be looking at least $80 for post
I get the priority post because it comes faster and can be tracked

If you order enough the postage becomes negligible, hence the reason for this thread.
last time I ordered 6000 for myself and they worked out about 6c each. Just working on the
price of staple 2x2's at the moment, I reckon I can get them posted to me and then on ship them to you for about 8c each at most. To buy them from local coin stores you are looking at double that. Once I get final figures, I will work it out properly.

I agree Trigger
we usually cop a monster postage fee but it still works out very worthwhile for what we buy

we have been buying from them for many years now as we'd order through our local coin store and about 4 years on we are still waiting for our order (from the store!!!) kept asking - never came
one of the guys at the coin club told us about the airtite guys and we haven't looked back for bulk orders

I have placed a couple of orders with Air-Tite and have nothing but praise for their service.

Ok I have been able to do a price for 2x2,

Staple type the best I can do (and this is at cost) is 10c per 2x2 plus freight. The best I can do on self adhesives (and this is at cost) is 18c per 2x2 plus freight. This is all assuming this is a bulk deal of 500 per size (tho I can post out individually)

Thanks Shane,
Nobody has ordered 500 of the one type yet, but the price for the self adhesives is good.
The 2x2s are still too dear and I'm not sure if you even have 1 1/2 x 1 1/2s.

Hi Steve.

Not asking for 500 for ine person but 500 of one size in total so I can the break up for individual orders. Gives me a price break to offer cheaper price. Can't get that odd size

We don't have total of 500 in any one size of 2x2 yet,
but let's wait and see if anyone else is going to place any orders.

Sorry Mate  but I have been busting my guts in 45+ deg heat for the last 6 days.
I did look at your PM and to save 4-5 bucks per 100 I would rather support our B and M people in Australia than anyone overseas :ok:
If I look at the big picture it may cost me an extra $100 a year for coin supplies but at least that will stay in Aus  and that is good enough for me mate :ok:

Look at the even bigger picture... Save the $100 with the bulk buy, then throw the cash you saved at your favorite local (forum member) dealer. Win/Win/Win.

No problems Jim.
Bigfella has done a good price on the self adhesive 2x2's, if he could have gone a bit cheaper on the staple 2x2's I probably would support local too. I have limited bucks to throw at this hobby, so I have to make them stretch.
