Title: PCGS Registry Sets
Post by: purplepennyhunter on January 03, 2014, 06:16:59 PM
I've just managed to add my Christmas present farthing to my registry set without any problem. Usually there is much foot stomping at the process. It's moved by British farthing set 1838-1901 from 4th to 3rd place even though it's not even remotely near complete (8% woo hoo) I'm having fun adding the odd coin to it here and there.

I'm half complete with the QEII farthings with 2 of the 4 coins needed, yay!

There's still lots to do...ho hum

It's a place to list your PCGS graded coins and have them rated.

Like the pennies here:
Aussie Pennies (http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/Publishedset.aspx?s=81275&o=1)

And the rankings (http://www.pcgs.com/SetRegistry/composite.aspx?c=2278).

I could compete in a "Low Ball" registry set maybe
But that set is WAY beyond my finances :dash1:

There are probably a few on this forum that have sets whether they be great or small.

I do laugh at some of the sets and how impossible they would be to complete, then again some collections are simply amazing:drooling:

I really like the set registry nowhere close to being complete but hey what can you buy with the wage of a Junior working at Woolworths but really happy with the coins I have in my sets.

I have a full coin collection from 1910 to 1966 all in DANSCO Supreme Albums with the main high value coins stored in another location.   These coins include the 1930 Penny, 1923 halfpenny, 1921/22 Threepence.

The coins are all basically circulated coins.

Could the above collection be put onto the PCGS Registry list and if so, how does one go about it.

My Decimal set include a full UNC set from 1966 through to current date of all denominations again all in DANSCO supreme Albums.   Could this set be listed?   It includes the 1966 Wavey 20c piece and all the Mint Marked/Counterstamped $1 coins.

They would all have to be graded and slabbed by PCGS Goldie.
That would cost you an absolute fortune and take quite a bit of time and effort :ok:

There seems to be a theme with Woolworths tho I can't necessarily put my finger on it haha :P Anyway Fr45h3R you have quite the collection of Half Pennies the coppers are rare in MS65 and anything higher is downright ridiculously rare.

This one came back from the USA recently and is an upgrade to my QE2 florin registry set.  An MS64 to this MS65.

I have a complete set of pennies, includiong the 1930, a total of 75 pennies.

Would PCGS grade each one, slab them and then automatically put into the Registry or must I pay for that privilege?

The next question, what would be the cost(s) and how would I display/store the slabbed coins?

I think you should try asking one of the PCGS registered dealers such as Eric as to price/ advisability etc.

The registry set is free.

You'd want to get each coin assessed first to make sure they'll slab it (PCGS). No point wasting your money if there's the odd problem coin in there. Eric would advise you.

I would store them in their blue PCGS boxes in the safe or safety deposit box once they're in slabs.

Nice coin!!

Thank you.  There's about 100 graded higher though.  Sometimes I wonder if I should just crack and buy one of the already graded coins.
